Who thought this was a good idea?
The liberals in their appeasement of the LGBT community. Oh ... and Rosie O'Donnell along with her Hollywood friends. Only bigots like me would be opposed to something so wonderful :).

Even if he didn't record it on his phone, any guy could just walk in there and view female students showering whenever they please.

Someone should have told the person it's illegal to record other people showering.

I find it hard to believe that if there was a law forbidding a particular gender from a restroom that they would not have broken the law and recorded people showering. That's the equivalent of thinking if we outlaw all guns then the criminals will comply with the laws and not get guns. No... people with evil motives will still find a way to do their evil.

No, criminals are law abiding citizens! They wouldn't have entered if there was a law against it!

Gender neutral bathrooms...

I get a perverse pleasure out of watching the world screw itself into the tribulation

That's the thing. Thanks to our friend Barry, the new law says students can go into whichever restroom or locker room they gender-associate with.. so if I feel like a woman one day I can use the ladies room (and I don't have to prove to anyone that I really feel like a woman). 13 states are trying to block that law (The law was already passed by the white house as a "decree"):

This issue was covered in detail in the Office Max thread a few months ago.

I do believe gender neutral bathrooms are absolutely ridiculous.

That said, the first time filming co-eds made the national news was when it happened at my college. The landlord for an off-campus house for women drilled holes in the wall of the bathroom to film what happened at the toilet an in the shower. I was one of hundreds of students that went to a party there shortly before the news came out.

Oh. BTW. This was in 1974, before the internet and yet there was already a market for his films.

There will always be creeps. Gender neutral bathrooms just make it easier.

Seriously ? Would you agree that gender neutral bathrooms pose a great risk for females (if I may use that politically incorrect term) ?

The risk is always there. I'm not sure if we can quantify it as there isn't a practical way to do so.

However, what we do know, as Depleted gave us her life experience regarding this issue, is that people will do whatever it is they want to do. A law won't stop someone from recording someone else. We can be like the Democrats and encourage strict gun regulations/outlaw guns completely for citizens to stop people from obtaining guns... but I don't think that is a practical solution...

Democrats will answer "But by allowing citizens to buy guns, aren't we making it easier for them to get guns to kill people?" Well... maybe, but they will get guns regardless of the law... Criminals, by definition, break the law... they won't honor a law (don't go into this restroom or you can't own a gun) simply because there is a law... It's the law abiding citizens that get screwed here...

Perhaps there is an element of truth in this for those males so determinedly inclined when it comes to observing females in public washrooms. But surely, giving them a key to do so isn't the means to reduce it's probability. Gun control and a womans right to privacy in a public washroom are two entirely different matters. Don't get caught in the liberal thinking trap of using one to justify the other. You and women everywhere deserve much better than what this type of rationalizing offers.
