No, this is a serious one.

My little Mockingbird, Henri, and her two fledglings haven't been around for more than a week. Not a sign of them, anywhere. I'm starting to want to shoot me some cats.

Best you don't mention that in front of Lady blue :p

Sad....

I keep my cat's inside so don't shoot them, but I'm sorry about your birds.

Put your rifle away, Willie. :o I doubt a cat got to them. Mockingbirds are feisty little things and have no fear of cats. They will stalk and attack both people and other animals. Perhaps someone in your neighborhood was annoyed by the Mockingbirds (they're known to be pesky) and discouraged them from coming around. I happen to like Mockingbirds as I get a kick out of how they do such a variety of awesome bird calls. My son got one Mockingbird on our property to mimic a high-pitch cricket noise. ROFL!!

It's just a BB pistol that hardly even phases ducks, so cats have no fear. Henri would give cats a hard time but the babies were so immature...

Believe it or not, I passed a dead cat this morning on my daily walk.

Dont as shoot cats. Im sure the birds are okay. But cats are cute and fluffy!

I found Henri. I went out walking around the neighborhood, specifically looking for her, calling her name and whistling. Two houses down, she whistled back but she wouldn't come out of the thick bushes she was hiding in at the back of the lot. But I didn't see the little ones anywhere.

thats good. The babies are around somewhere. And stay away from my kitty

You have a pet mockingbird?

We have so many around here that many people consider them varmints..... although they are our state bird...

I had one singing in the tree outside our bedroom window a couple of years back... at 3:30 in the morning. It was a long song...

I finally went out and flung a broomstick up into the tree, and he flew across the street and two doors down, and started his singing again.

I went back to bed.
