Yes. The story of Sampson very clearly shows how strongly the Holy Spirit will indwell and anoint someone who is totally messed up.

It sounds like EarsToHear you are teaching and endorsing Works for Salvation. If i understand you correctly you are saying we cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit until we cleanse our self of all our sins which is Works for Salvation.

You are way off base. Its God who seeks us out FIRST. Its God who makes us Holy. Its God who fills us with the Holy Spirit.

I can prove this.

Romans 3:10-12

10. There is NONE Righteous, not even one. If no one is Righteous then how can one know they have sins that need to be cleansed from them? They cannot.

11. None who understand. This proves out what verse 10 is saying that nobody seeks out God because none know about God.

12. There is none who does good. If no one cannot do Good than how can one cleanse himself first of his sins for the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit?

This is why you are totally off base on your assumption we first need to cleanse ourselves to receive the Holy Spirit. Its God who does the cleansing of our sins.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. so He couldn't induel the OT saints bc they were spiritually dead. but After the cross, the Spirit now in duels the christian by virtue of his insaperable and indissoluble union with Son of God, to such an extend, that whatever Jesus is to the father, the believer is as well.

But we have done this exact thing with the gospel! We have separated God's sterilization process - the cross - from His filling process - Christ coming to live in us through His resurrection!

The Christian world, to a large extent, has been guilty of teaching half a gospel - that is, the cross of Christ which brought us forgiveness of sins. But by separating forgiveness of sins from the message of receiving the life of Christ, we have not only missed out on experiencing life, but we have lost sight of the purpose of forgiveness in the first place. The reason that God had to deal once and for all with the sin issue was so that we could be filled with Christ "without spoiling."

As a matter of fact, there is one final part of the canning process. After sterilizing the jars and filling them with fruit, the jars are sealed. Sealing keeps the good things inside and the bad things that would spoil the contents outside. We read in Ephesians 1:13,

if that could happen to prophet Isaiah in the OT, how much more effective is the work of Christ in cleansing us!!!! Christ has purged out sin from the human race once and for all! Either he is savoir of all or He is not Savior at all.

It would be nice but it aint that way. Theres so many christians that can speak in tounges and have the holy spirit and lay on hands etc BUT smoke. Smoking is a addiction and a demonic stronghold. It destorys the temple of the holy spirit over time. Yet a person can carry the holy spirit and miracles happen.

it goes out and finds 7 more worse than itself and going back to it's 'home' finds it swept and clean...with no defenses...and the the end result is a worse captivity than before the casting out

people need to understand that a person has to be able to 'keep' themselves clean...falling back into sin can put you in a worse state than before

the other thing is, people can be ignorant of what is going on within their own lives..a demon can be working through someone and they don't know it

So are you saying that God's Spirit does NOT live in me? That He only comes and goes as needed? That is a false view of the Holy Spirit from my experience. Not at all, when I was saved and regenerated by His Spirit He has been with me since. We serve a God that is not far off. He is with each and every one of us in Him each and every minute of every day. I' hope I'm not coming across too strongly or anything, but the Spirit just "coming upon me" only when needed doesn't sound very accurate to what I know of Him. That all said I also understand that for each and every one of us our relationship with Him is different, so please understand I'm not trying to say I can know your salvation status, or relation ship with God at all in the least. I just thought it sounded a bit off enough for me to at least ask.

In Acts, this baptism was always accompanied by some words in tongues.
However, as with the reporting of most (all?) events,
not everything that actually happens is reported.
Hence, tongues is not mentioned in all of the Spirit-baptism accounts in Acts.
Neither were all of the prophetic utterances reported.
Neither were all of the boldness manifestations reported.
Neither were all of the miracles (at the time) reported.
Neither were all of the FILLED with the Spirit reported
(when one is born-again, he/she is NOT filled with the Spirit; the Spirit just comes inside).
