Okay, now I'm unsubscribing and will not be checking this thread anymore because I feel like this is just a vicious cycle. Vegans will obviously look at meat eaters as being in the wrong because it's a different lifestyle from them. The thing that is different about this is this: I respect your choice and I don't think either of you are in the wrong, but me and everyone else who does eat meat is in the wrong. I am not in disagreement with your life choices or the health benefits. I actually agree with most of everything you are saying. What I disagree with is the treatment you bestow on me (and on many others, which I have noticed). That is what I disagree with.

But....before I go......I shall leave on one note and one note it shall remain.....

"God speed." :)

I have seen the pendulum swing. When I was a kid, people argued and fought and stood their ground over stupid things. Now it is just use the new age mantra and say I don't have time for this negative stuff and run away and hide.
Sometimes it is good to stick around to possibly gain a better understanding, sometimes it is senseless. Not for me to say when. I do know that as a society we just we have gotten to the point where we generally choose the option of "pick up my toys and go home if we can't get our way."
I sometimes wonder if this attitude is yet another shame by the devil to make us more passive to make it easier for him for one world order.

I was just thinking if we were having this discussion back when Jesus walked this earth. You know how when the people asked the Lord all sorts of questions and how Jesus would perceive what's really in their heart and answer according to the heart of the matter? I can imagine those who might bring up how they view "the body as a temple" and how they live eating the "seed-bearing plants" and how they use wisdom about good health and refrain from eating junk.

And I can imagine Jesus saying, "And do you also refrain from acknowledging your brothers and sisters according to the flesh? Do you refrain from judging those who don't worry about what they eat? Do you refrain from pride and boasting about your outward appearance? Do you refrain from being easily offended at those who don't agree with you? Do you delight in the truth of God more than your own earthly knowledge? Do you value your body more than your soul? Do you refrain from grumbling when you're not given any acknowledgement for your good health?"

I mean, there's so many things that come out of people that defile them such as jealousy, lying, rage, vanity, boasting, rudeness, impatience, betrayal, unforgiveness, lust, greed, etc. I think good health means different things to different people. It's good to share our ideas. It ain't so good if the way we present those ideas make others feel they have to measure up to our standards.

Not to say my standards are optimum. I just had meatloaf, mashed garlic potatoes, veggies with butter, brownies and ice cream for dinner with my son & his lovely fiancé and her wonderful parents. And we drank lots of iced tea with lime and sugar in it.

I think that Jesus would say while it is good and honoring to take care fo your body, the focus should be on relationship with God. I think He would say it is permissible to have a thought process about such things. Yes, if someones belief is causing your brother or sister to stumble, or is causing undue discourse, then step back.
The second most important thing is not health.
The unity of the brethren is the second most important thing after relationship with God.

As far as all the stuff that defiles us, why add to it we don't need to?

Do you think it may be possible their are things going on in bodies vibrationally, chemically, electro magnetically that can make our souls more receptive to our Lord?

ABSOLUTELY! I'm sure of it. I think our emotions or mind tune our frequency but nutrition has a way of manipulating our emotions. The pineal gland may be directly linked to this broadcasting and receiving of spiritual communication. Its a gland with optic like sensors in it located in the center of the brain. Often referred to as the third eye, or the eye of Horus. I think depending on our frequency we can receive communications from our Heavenly Father or demons. You also asked about divine intended diets. In some of my other posts on this thread I also discussed the proper way to eat and lose fat. Health has to do with two very important components; getting nutrients to the cells from outside the body, and getting waste from the cells back outside the body. I'm pretty sure I have it all figured out. It would be more helpful to ask specific questions to get specific answers because there is a lot to be considered.

I'd have to say yes because junk food actually makes me sick, weak and not as mentally sharp, which leaves me more vulnerable to spiritual funk.

But I also have to admit that when I was a complete fitness freak and total health nut, I personally found myself struggling with vanity and lust. And like attracts like. :( It was worse than eating junk food.

Do you think it may be possible their are things going on in bodies vibrationally, chemically, electro magnetically that can make our souls more receptive to our Lord?
I'd have to say no, there's no way God is influenced by my diet. I can't make my soul receptive to God. I give him all the credit for that work.

In fact, I'd have to say God is more clear to me the more my "self" gets out of the way.

For every animal vegans refuse to eat, I will eat three.

Meat is murder. Tasty, tasty murder.

Did that upset a vegan? Get over it, cupcake.

Oh well, We differ in that I do think that the improves sharpness of our minds and bodies, that are running at peak levels do help us become superior receptors. Do you think a person who is in a coma as the mental and spiritual awareness of one that isn't? Or that a 5 year old child is as intellectually aware as an adult. God designed us with a mind. He said my people perish because of lack of knowledge. There is a reason we are urged to study the bible. Study as in use our minds as well as spirit to understand it.
A diet excluding all the harmful chemicals and endogenous substances allows a clear mind. A clearer mind generally leads to deeper spirituality.
I don't think anyone can quantify the vibrational, chemical, electro magnetic aspect they play as a holistic component of spiritual receptiveness, but most agree they play a role.

I believe our spiritual health and relationship with God can influence our physical health.

Also that a child has more faith than many adults.

Okay, I do agree...TO AN EXTENT. But being a health coach and being passionate about fitness, I need to talk to you about some stuff. Being slim does not mean you are healthy. Are anorexia people healthy? No.

Slim doesn't mean you're healthy? I'm slim, does that mean I'm not healthy? Is anorexic the same descriptive as slim?

Being slim does not mean your body is glorifying God. I feel your comment can come off as ignorant (I'm not saying you are, but I'm saying this comment is). Being slim does not glorify God, but being healthy does
Sometimes you have to see that there's no correlation between slim and unhealthy. We can glorify God in a multitude of different ways, one of which is to look after our body and our healthy, it is the temple that He gave us. I don't believe by being slim through education and hard work, I'm not glorifying our Father.

I have seen the pendulum swing. When I was a kid, people argued and fought and stood their ground over stupid things. Now it is just use the new age mantra and say I don't have time for this negative stuff and run away and hide.

Wonderfully relevant for the thread.

Or to put it another simpler way,,, not that I am saying anyone here can't understand the concept. Just to really boil it down to its simplest form.
God made us. He designed the world we live in. He could have made us without bodies, and I am sure there is some way He could have arranged it for us to get along quite well without them, even if we have a hard time imagining that. He could have made us without tongues, and I am sure we still would have been able to communicate in some way that He could have arranged for us to do so. He made us to eat a certain way. I am sure he meant what He said when he stated that. T
He made us to sleep, I am sure he could have done away with sleep if He wanted to. God made for days and nights, circadian rhythms , etc. You get the point.
God was not limited when He created us and the world we live in. The way it turned out is the perfect design. Perfect in balance with nature, in mind, spirit, body and emotion. Of course we screwed that all up. That's another story.
But to sit here and say, because we can see only about two feet in front of us thanks to our mass ignorance about certain things, to say that our perverted diets (and I concede its more then our diets, but that is a major factor) don't disrupt the balance of that spiritual, emotional and intellectual connection, well, I think it is short sighted, possibly arrogant, and not giving God the credit He is due.

You didn't upset me tough guy. Eat as you please. I am not trying to upset you. If I have, not my intention. Only trying to edify for those who have ears.

Just as we are not given the same spiritual gifts..our bodies are different and need different diets. Some need special diets, some can eat anything.

It's really something each person has to pray about and listen to God and their body.

1 Corinthians 8:8 - But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

So you think some people are designed to eat meat and some to be vegans? What do you base that on? If your saying that.

Your actually supporting my point about the spirit, mind, emotional, nature connection. If your body is in balance, you will be more aware of these gifts and more easily develop them.

Another point. How is it that fasting is supposed to strengthen the spiritual connection. Now don't you find it a coincidence how a lack of food is used in that regard.
And no one here thinks an abundance of food, especially filthy toxic food won't impair it?
Wake up people.
