Guessing you're referring to missionary dating. It's a bad idea and more often the non-believer negatively affects the believer.
It has happened the other way around but it's rare. And then what if they never get saved? Do you dump them? After how long? And isn't that mistreating the other person? What if you marry and have kids? You're a believer, the other is not. So now what?
Those are just a few of many problems that can arise. It's really not worth it. Nor is it right to do, really.

He is saying its not right to marry an unbeliever in hopes to convert them. We can only tell them the gospel of Jesus Christ but it is not our job to convert them. That is between them and the Holy Spirit. Dont date/marry someone on the pretenses you might be able to convert them.

When two people come together in relationship, they begin to walk together through life. The problem this will pose is that, in order to walk together, you must have the same destination or goal. Unless the two agree, they cannot walk together. I am not saying that is not possible that the other party will find Jesus while in the relationship, but that it is, more times than not, a bad idea, since the two have to agree to walk together. A Christian and an unbeliever will have different goals, and a different mind. They will be walking in different ways. So in order to walk together, one of the party will have to change or compromise.
Personally, I've never had the experience of someone I've dated who is an unbeliever coming to Christ within our relationship. I had a relationship a couple years ago that just kind of "happened". I went to a coffee shop the barista that helped me ended up giving me her number, and we went for sushi and ended up dating for a little while. The crazy thing is, I knew that this wasn't going to work even before the first date. There was an uneasiness in me, God speaking to me that this isn't for me, but I went through with it anyway. I ended up dating her for a couple months, but I ended it after truly thinking about how it wont work, since we both are moving in different directions. She was wanting things that I could not give her, so I had to break it off. We were not agreed, so we could not walk together.

I was in an unequally yoked relationship and it just ended really bad....I ended up backsliding, even though he was trying to be a christian, but you cannot try to be a christian, you are either born again or not.. At the end of the day it was the lust that kept us together for a while (you see how bad this is). Eventually he broke my heart and thats how it ended. It could never work for several reasons... Unbelievers are mostly lead by their emotions, and they dont really stick to the promises they make, because of being emotionally unstable. And it causes you to get hurt and tossed into being emotional as well. My experience was so heart breaking that Im still even today mending my heart because I got hurt too much. Dating an unbeliever is a very, very, very bad idea ! Believe me, it is !

Um... ma'am .... you're making yourself seem quite desperate and odd... you may want to lay off begging men of a certain race to add you. It seems like you may be more concerned with the race than whether he's a decent guy... maybe it's just me seeing this.

I am going to confess and say, yes. The unbeliever was actually me 9 years ago this Valentine's Day. That's actually a long sad story, but for the sake of brevity, I did find Jesus eventually!
