I just know me and in my experience there aren't many that can "hang". There are some and their names come to mind for me as we speak. I grew up working on farms. I've been gainfully employed since I was 15 years old and her nonsense got the best of me.....and I stand by the fact that she likely wouldn't last half the day.
I was the same way when I was younger. I had great stamina, and my dad raised me to out work our employees. Not now, I have slowed down. But I know what you mean. I used to get tired of hearing people say, yea you work hard because its your own business.
That really riled me. I would answer that if you can use that excuse, your not going to work hard anywhere for anyone, even yourself. And this was before I knew the bible verse about who is responsible with little.
I worked valeting cars when I went to college in Miami. It was not my business, and even then, I was always one of the hardest working guys there. And same thing when I did roofing work for another boss.
So I know what you mean, and while I am all for the motto smarter, not harder, I also think many people in this country under the ages of 35 to 40 have no idea what hard long work really is.
In fact that is one of many reasons why I closed my business down. I had about 20 people working for from the mid '80's until I closed it down in 2010. I saw such a decline in the work ethic. I just couldn't deal with being a cop, baby sitter, disciplinarian, and blowing a gasket every month.
I said, man, I made my money. I have the nutritional thing I do part time. Who needs this crap?

It still sort of amazes me that Clinton and Trump are the only front choices, and that if I don't choose one of these choices, that it will be throwing my vote away to the one I definitely don't want. I could vote for my cat, can't we write in anyone's name? 
In some states you can write in a name. Some have even voted for Curly Howard!
