Proverbs 20:1, Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Facts:
83% of all fire fatalities in America are alcohol related
68% of all drownings are alcohol related
80% of all suicides are alcohol related
40% of industrial fatalities are alcohol related
65% of child abuse cases are alcohol related
The leading cause of mental retardation is alcohol use during pregnancy.
25,000 Americans die every year in alcohol related accidents. That's 70 per day.
And yet, Americans spend over 50,000,000,000 a year on alcohol consumption.
Should not we, the church, cry out against this killer and destroyer of families? Why preach moderation? We don't preach moderation when it comes to cocaine. What's keeping Christians in America from crying out against all alcohol use? Do we also want to drink that bad and blame it own "wine is good for the heart" or "it helps me relax." It's total nonsense. Let the facts speak for themselves.
