Does morality work in all situations?
To my mind the whole point about morality is it works in all situations, or it is
just situational ethics.
Jesus called us to a morality that works no matter where we are, with reference
to God and the truth. He opposed those who compromised with sin because they
were the chosen, but rather you had to have a clean heart and walk in reality.
In an odd way, by making the pharisees ones enemies, yet doing exactly the same
thing does not free people from the same judgement of deceit and failure.
Now it is fine if people honestly fail and know why, and work it through, but to ignore
it and say any attempt to deal with sin is self DIY salvation is just insane.
If I get angry at someone it is ok to murder them because Jesus let it happen.
If I dealt with the anger, confessed it, let the Lords love flow, that is self sorting things
out so is evil.
Now the pharisees used the same approach because they never dealt with the
heart. Now we know who deals with the heart, because it is all those who agree with
my proposition, and those who have not and cannot oppose it, and stand condemned
by the Lord whatever their claim in their faith.
