Beautiful and godly how you two women handled that. Praise God! ( Feel free to either go and have a drink together to celebrate the love of Christ in us - or not...:) )

I base my opinions on what I think the Bible says.

I added the bit in bold. That's the truth of it.
Something like a six-day creation is not debatable.
Alcohol being inherently evil is debatable.

righto...as my dad used to say

I truly do not want to see you any other way than a fellow believer

hugs Kayla!

so glad you responded this way...you encourage me in Christ...

understanding is very important to me...but I think acceptance as we are, is pretty much what we all want

so thank you!

I do have friends of lots of different denominations and we disagree on things and can still get on together. I am Pentecostal and several years ago a friend from Canada visited Cincinnati and called us {my family} to meet her there. We live a few hours away and we went and met her and she had several girl friends that were with her. It was on a Sunday and one of them was Catholic and wanted to attend service. I love to take photos and I knew of a beautiful cathedral nearby. So we all went. One was a Baptist,a couple of us were Pentecostal, one was Catholic and another couple of denominations. I sat in this beautiful church, they were remembering 9/11, and listened to the pipe organ and the words of the memorials. We all had a wonderful moving service though we were all different in our beliefs. The regulars at the service were so sweet and welcoming. I never did forget that service. Quite something. I know a discussion forum brings disagreement sometimes but when we do agree its then the Spirit moves. There is nothing like being in one accord. So hugs back to you,you encouraged me also.

Now leave it to the Australian to tweak things back up again once the Canadians have made peace! :p
I dont see it as inherently evil, the Bible cautions about alcohol and I dont see where it adds any benefit to the believer. And I'll leave it there because its too easy to get sucked into a thread again. Now what do you know about Canada brother, besides its freezing cold? The land of the frozen chosen.

Ahhh! Spent lots of time in NB. I had family there in Moncton. Spell check just tried to correct me.lol I remember we got caught there one winter. It snowed so much that the cops were getting around on skidoos. They had a two story house and you couldnt see out the first floor for the snow! My husband cant believe my stories lol

Ah yes,I think we talked about that before. I told my hubby its a nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there. Winters are too long and summers too short. I have a lot of kin in NFLD too, where there are longer winters and no summer.lol

Sounds about right. lol I actually use to visit a place where they made maple syrup each year for our school visit. They'd show us how they tapped the trees and such. Seems like long boring work. But the end result is great. A lot of comedians are Canucks and singers too. Anne Murray grew up in the town next to mine. My father was a courier and use to deliver to her home often, her mother would answer. Theres a walk down memory lane.lol Now Australia, I know its hot and has bugs that are wayyyy to big for me to be able to ever live there. And that they are under the queen the same as Canada is. Not tryin to derail the thread, just cooling it off a bit ;)

Igloos? Oh, dear. I'm not quite that bad. My best friend was born in Canada. But I still don't know much about the country. It really is so far away from Australia. Seems like a weird mix of Aussie and America with a little bit of Great Britain and a whole lot of France.

I'm from Wisconsin and we know a thing or two about drinking. Everyone in my family drinks and they think its there job to get drunk at every chance they get. There's literally a bar on every corner in some towns. Some bars have take home cups which is illegal. Jeff Foxworthy joked that people in Wisconsin are unaware of the legal drinking age and I agree. I have a drink every once in a while but never been drunk. I have a heart problem so I can't drink to much anyway. I dislike drinking though so I'm not to keen on people who drink themselves stupid. But thats everyone I know.

Love FL,vacationed in Destin this year. My husband had never been. I told him he had to go. Now he wants to move there.lol Maybe retire there. I like my home too much to move now. I kind of had my limit of snow. I traveled in ministry 20yrs in a motorhome and saw lots and lots of snow! I prefer the warmer temps. But I do love the ocean and miss it.
