Igloos? Oh, dear. I'm not quite that bad. My best friend was born in Canada. But I still don't know much about the country. It really is so far away from Australia. Seems like a weird mix of Aussie and America with a little bit of Great Britain and a whole lot of France.
Lol!! You so totally nailed it! It is a weird mix. I never realized how much till I moved away from home. Our standing joke whenever I give an opinion my hubby says "well you're European anyway soo..." lol

I'm from Wisconsin and we know a thing or two about drinking. Everyone in my family drinks and they think its there job to get drunk at every chance they get. There's literally a bar on every corner in some towns. Some bars have take home cups which is illegal. Jeff Foxworthy joked that people in Wisconsin are unaware of the legal drinking age and I agree. I have a drink every once in a while but never been drunk. I have a heart problem so I can't drink to much anyway. I dislike drinking though so I'm not to keen on people who drink themselves stupid. But thats everyone I know.

Ya, Canada is big on beer, that and Tim Hortons. But bars vs. Timmies I think Timmies would win by a landslide. Timmies is like Mc Donalds here,or nail salons. Whats with all the nail salons? Its country here, I dont see many manicures around but theres a salon every 2ft. I dont get it.

You have to move to the US or Canada where they dont hear it all the time. The Nova Scotia accent annoys me cause I grew up with it. Love the southern accent myself. Aussies have a great sense of humor, never met anyone from there that didn't crack me up. Very quick witted.

I quite like the Nova Scotia accent. But then I didn't grow up there. Yeah, Aussies generally have a pretty good sense of humour. It takes a lot to offend the average Aussie. As a nation, we're great at making fun of ourselves. It's part of our national identity.

I lost my accent really,I began traveling when I was 16. Of course they hear an accent here in the south. My husband will laugh every once in a while and ask me to repeat something. Apparently I say "pasta" in a really weird way.

while there are pretty much French speaking people all over Canada, the concentration is in Quebec...where I am from

my husband just blames my eccentricities on that alone...I tell him to get some culture

it's all good

How the heck did you guys go from talking about alcohol to Canadians? Wait a minute, I know.... the hardest I have ever laughed in my life was this time I was drinking alcohol with some Canadians when I was fishing at The Lake of the Woods. Lol

my husband actually thinks he has married a foreigner of some kind...I tell him hey...y'all had to cross the border to find the right one...with all those millions of American women...and here you are

it's the partial freezing of the cranium that occurs during winter

and the ice fishing

I have foot in mouth disease, so my disability is quite awkward which is why I always take the time to make fun of others....:p

My mother is from Newfoundland, big drinkers there. People have said no one can tolerate liquor like the Newfies. They have a drink called "screech" some Jamaican rum mixed with somethin. The name says it all I'd guess. Anyway apparently they can drink anyone under the table and be cold stone sober. None of my moms side drinks oddly enough.
