a big Amen to that (except for the yhvh stuff, since the nt writers never wrote it)
When God mentions "those who call upon his name", do you think his name is "the lord"?
not.

Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Deuteronomy 5:13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: 14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
The fourth commandment that God gave to Israel through Moses.
If you wish to obey the fourth commandment, I suggest that you pay close attention to the words written in them.
I choose to put my Savior first and begin ever seven days praising, worshiping, and thanking Him for the sacrifice that he made for me. When that work week began on Monday, I began my week on Sunday. When my work week began on Friday, I began my week on Thursday. If we lived in a world where every one's work week began on the same day (Sunday), it would be possible to practice worshiping on a Saturday Sabbath. That doesn't happen in today's world. That's why God through Paul said
Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:
When those of you who finish your proper celebration of the Saturday Sabbath, I would like to invite you to a Sunday celebration of the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. In any case, I will be there to greet most of you when you get to Heaven.

not.
the NT writers all use "the lord" for God... even when quoting the OT where the tetragrammaton occurs... so that's what I do, too
Romans 14 For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall [e]give praise to God.”

my friend, Dan_473, good morning,
I didn't say we can't call Him "The Lord".
I am just saying, that is not His name.
Praise God for the King Jimmy translators! I am very thankful for them.
Again, just saying, "The Lord" is not His name.
I have been to the Sun-day socials.
I now observe the chosen day of God.
thank you for the invite.
We'll miss you. We'll begin the day at 7:00 AM with a men's Prayer Breakfast (30 minutes of breakfast, followed by an hour of prayer). It will be followed by an hour of Bible Study From 1 Peter. After that we will celebrate new children (13 to 40) of God with a baptismal service. We follow with a song and worship service with a message from God's word (probably from Colossians). We will end the the ordinance of the Lord's Supper. When we leave, we are ready to begin a new work week.
If you follow us home, we'll serve you a bowl of soup and let you kick back and rest until time to go to work Monday morning.
I have no problem with anyone celebrating the Sabbath along with the Jews. I do believe, however, that when it observed as the Sabbath, it must be observed in accordance with the Torah. If you wish to observe worship the risen Savior on Saturday, you may do it in any way that you feel glorifies our Lord Jesus Christ. Either way you choose to do so (as long as it is centered around Christ), you will always have our blessings.
1 Corinthians 9:20-21
[SUP]20 [/SUP]To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law though not being myself under the Law, so that I might win those who are under the Law; [SUP]21 [/SUP]to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law.
Even Paul taught he was not under the Law. We are under the Law of Christ. Not the Law of the Old Testament.

That's correct! and when translating the OT, the NT writers always wrote "the lord"... so that's what I do...

Ok, let's put this in context with the thread.
If Paul is under the law of Christ, how would that apply to the 4th commandment?
like this.
Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.in Christ we are dead with regard to the Law that was given with the old covenant. it has nothing to hold over us whatsoever. we are already sanctified and justified, apart from it, by the Lord. there is no more '4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment' in Christ, because those commandments only applied to us while we lived. but in Him, we have died, so that with Him, we may live, and serve in the spirit, no longer by flesh.
(Romans 14:1-5)
Names speak of many invisible authorities. God has many names that do speak of his immutable authority. Not just Jehovah .
ok, you go with that false belief. That particular passage is about food, particularly if certain days were better for fasting.
prepare to explain to God that His Sabbath is no more.
