A.W. Tozer was speaking on the heart of the Lord to this apathetic generation when he said:

"The laws of success operate also in the higher field of the soul–spiritual greatness has its price. Eminence in the things of the Spirit demands a devotion to these things more complete than most of us are willing to give. But the law cannot be escaped. If we would be holy we know the way; the law of holy living is before us. The prophets of the Old Testament, the apostles of the New and, more than all, the sublime teachings of Christ are there to tell us how to succeed…

The amount of loafing practiced by the average Christian in spiritual things would ruin a concert pianist if he allowed himself to do the same thing in the field of music. The idle puttering around we see in church circles would end the career of a big league pitcher in one week. No scientist could solve his exacting problem if he took as little interest in it as the rank and file of Christians take in the art of being holy. The nation whose soldiers were as soft and undisciplined as the soldiers of the churches would be conquered by the first enemy that attacked it. Triumphs are not won by men in easy chairs. Success is costly."

-A.W. Tozer

Osteen.....doesn't...........even............come....close.

If you knew anything at all about God's Word, you would know that "shaking off the dust of your feet" denotes the end of an effort to enlighten someone or reach them in some way according to scripture.

You have made it abundantly clear that you:

1. Know nothing about Joel Osteen. (Here are your very own words from THIS VERY THREAD)

2. Know nowhere near enough about God's Word to be debating anything to do with the topic of this thread.

After all the information & evidence to support the scriptural incompetence of the Osteen ministries, you are still standing up for a complete stranger who supports a ministry that goes 100% against the Word of God.

In light of these verifiable 'FACTS', only a 'FOOL' would continue your pursuit.

however I want to advise you to be more understanding and more humble in the way you speak and respond to others if you wish for people to really listen to you

People will listen to Truth no matter what form it comes in IF they have been blessed with the ears to hear it. Sadly, that is clearly not you.

There are plenty of examples all throughout the Bible of righteous servants of God being much, MUCH less forgiving to those who opposed God, whether those people were aware of their fault in God's eyes or not.

Am I wielding the jaw bone of a donkey and slaughtering 2000 pagans for God's honor?

Not yet.

Am I calling down fire from Heaven to completely consume those who follow pagan leaders in their ungodly ways?

Don't think so.

Am I slaughtering entire villages of people, men, women and children, because God declared them idol worshipping, pagan filth?

No.

But you had better believe I will call it like I see it when ANYBODY is leading MASSES of people to the WIDE OPEN gates of destruction, and ANYBODY that supports those efforts will be judged, whether they are aware of their sin or not.

God made the Bible available to ALL PEOPLE of the Earth so that nobody should have any excuse for being unaware of following the wrong leaders or joining in with the masses to celebrate and heed the evil words of False Prophets and wolves in sheep's clothing.

Ignorance of the Law in America is no excuse and certainly not a 'get-out-of-jail-free' card.

You can rest assured that ignorance of God's Laws will not save you from eternal chains. There are plenty of people speaking out against those who are quite obviously judged as 'wrong' in God's eyes in this fallen world; therefore, there is no excuse.

If you choose, instead, to listen to those who tickle your ears, you have made your choice.

And God 'WILL' honor it.

The most ridiculous thing about this 'STAND' of yours is that you don't even know anything about Osteen and still choose to defend someone who supports the ministry. That makes you look so utterly inept I am astonished you are still hanging on to your silly dispute. You have long since been proven completely ignorant of the material you are fighting for.

If Silverwings is crushed at my objection to their post, I'm 100% certain they can speak for themselves. Yet, this thread has moved so far beyond that. It is only YOU who is still rattling on about it pathetically.

Osteen is about the money and has agood story to tell. Never preaching from the bible just some story and telling how good things should be. Real Christians go through Hard and tough times and its not all feel good as Osteen would announce.

In fact His Dad would give him a good spanking if he knew what his son doing. Amen

Couldn't agree with you more.

God raises up those He cares for and considers 'His own.' As some say, He loves us too much to allow us to stay the way we are.

The concept of hardship for 'Real Christians' is foreign to many of those I have encountered from the modern mainstream mega churches and those who are very involved with them.

Seems all they are ever taught about is love and kindness and fellowship and goodness and candy-coated silly nonsense.

They are exposed to a 'PORTION' of the New Testament, and the NT is only a 'very' small 'PORTION' of God's Word, as a whole. (About 20% to be exact. 1/5th.)

Shame, really. They wouldn't DREAM of reading their own Bibles.

no worries Blain

the guy is a steam roller

he thinks he speaks for God...people like him have forgotten that if they have any light, it is God who shines it on their path

so easy to tear down...that is ALL he has done here

yet, the Bible tells us to PRAY...easy to run your mouth in 5th gear and flame everyone

yet, that brings nothing but leanness and dissatisfaction in the end

if and when he finally figures that out, he will have a long road to recovery

his judgement is the very one he spews out here

judging hearts is not our business...as you know...that belongs to God

he thinks he has authority here, yet he is just another in a long line of people who have forgotten that they also are guilty without the blood of Christ

THIS WHOLE THREAD IS ABOUT JOEL OSTEEN, like it or not. Anybody that reads my original post can plainly see that I stated matters of fact without any personal attacks or name calling of any kind.

If you want to take a courageous stand for something, take a stand for the Word of God or stop wasting people's time with your pointless posts about MY post just for the sheer purpose of distracting from the matter at hand; that is JOEL OSTEEN IS A WORTHLESS FALSE PROPHET FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL.

If that hurts your feelings, good. Consider it a wake-up call from God.

This sentence, alone, shows how 'literally' unbelievably naïve you are if you seriously think online chat is inherently honest and sincere and reveals the true identity of the poster. This I wholeheartedly do not believe. You are either here to sidetrack this discussion or you are hopelessly misled and confused. There is no third possibility.

Yep, it means standing firmly for the Truth of God even when many come against you and call you mean and cruel, etc. because they are hopelessly lost and confused about what it actually means to live and stand for Truth.

Well guess what. God DOES choose sides and He expects ALL those who claim to follow Him to do the same to the point of death, so if you want to float around loving everyone everywhere you go and breaking up fights and living to impress man and appear as a peaceful, loving, kind person and all that, that's perfectly fine, but don't get in the way of those who are standing and fighting for Truth and whose purpose holds much more profound meaning to the One and only God of all Creation. The ONLY One who can judge who's being treated right or wrong.

And I think your best friend, whose name you didn't even get right with your first response, can speak for themselves if they take issue with anything anybody has to say.

Long as the cost of going to hell is worth it, more power to ya. Just don't pull others down with you who CHOOSE THE SIDE OF GOD.

Listen, I'm not here to play your little worthless games and answer your silly trivia questions. I'm not too concerned with whatever it is you THINK you know when you've already displayed how much you DO NOT.

The purpose of this thread is to expose the apostasy of JOEL OSTEEN ministries. If you have something to say about THAT, let's have it.

Get in the fight or get out of the way!!!!

Hummm got a whole lot of say for a 15 yr old boy. No respect for elders. Did you miss that part of the Bible? Im throwing the red flag on this one. A little too cerebral for a 15 yr old. Im not buying it.

Im no fan of Osteen btw and there are nicer ways to get that point across.

I'm not really a fan either...but you know, sometimes I listen to him because of his positive and uplifting 'sermons'

we all need some of that from time to time...I know I do since I have a tendency to get to self contemplating

(is self contemplating a word? not sure but you prob know what I mean LOL!)

wait...the word I was looking for is introspective...I get can get too introspective

Joel Osteen is not against Jesus Christ!!

Osteen has said you can get to heaven other than going through Christ. That is 100% against what the Bible tells us. So I dont see how he can be for Christ if he preaches you can believe in Islam and yet go to heaven.

I see Osteen as more of a self help type. Not someone I'd turn to for Bible teaching. And yes I do know what you were meaning. I invent new words all the time.lol But it may actually be right.

where did he say that Kayla?

I've never heard him say anything like that...I don't get my theology from him, but where did he say that?

I think some folks are nervous about Osteen because he does not preach fire and brimstone.

I believe his father was actually a Pentecostal pastor? Pretty sure someone told me that. I'd have to google that again but I was sure he had said you can believe other faiths and still get to heaven. Let me check and be sure I didn't slander him.

relax...I didn't use the word slander...:)

but I think we should have first hand sources...otherwise we injure ourselves if not others

appreciate it if you can find the source...thanks

Osteen did NOT say that - people interpret what he said as being that because he said that there are many ways to come to Jesus.

Osteen said that Jesus is the way to God. He also says that he says what the bible says and that it is to have our faith in Christ.

He also said that "he doesn't know the hearts of people to judge if they have believed in Christ ." - to make the call about if they are going to heaven. Do any of us know the hearts of people to make that call?

There are people that have come to Christ before they died and they are with Christ. Look at the thief on the cross - I can imagine all his friends that didn't see him die and confess Christ - they would say "He didn't go to heaven for sure"...we all know what he was like.

Here is what the church website statement of faith declares.

"
Salvation

We believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again."

https://www.lakewoodchurch.com/pages/new-here/what-we-believe.aspx

Here is the video of him talking where he states that he believes Jesus is the way to the Father.

We are making grave errors when we tear apart others in the body of Christ - all in the name of God and supposedly truth - just because we "interpret" what some one says wrongly.

I think Lauren is right - because he doesn't preach fire and brimstone - he's not preaching "their version of their gospel" - and so they jump him every chance they can.

In speaking to Oprah he said " I believe that Jesus is the way to the one God,but I believe there are many paths to Jesus" in answering her question "are there many paths to get to God?"

I dont agree with prosperity doctrine either, though I have close friends that do believe that way. I believe a workman is worthy of his hire,a pastor should be paid. But I disagree with these big tv evangelists that live like kings. You woudn't believe how many churches I traveled in that would not support their pastor or the church but gave to Osteen and Hinn. I have much less use for Hinn btw.

I would be slandering if I was wrong. False witness? hummm either way I wanted to be careful. A lot of bombs lobbed so far in this thread. Didnt want to be compared to the banned OP :(

many paths to Jesus does not mean many ways to God

do you see that?

pardon my bluntness...I'm a little rushed right now
