I'm "gay" and married to a woman. I don't have physical sex with other people outside my marriage. I do watch gay porn.

I don't think of myself as any less "pure" "worthy" "christian" "insert spiritualized qualifier", than any average run of the mill straight christian, who is also physically faithful, but watches porn.

When straight people Christian or not, point the finger at whatever disability another Christian has and decides for them if they are Christian or not, based on the disability.... well, that person needs to read their bible more thoroughly. Last I checked, we were all sinners (who deserve DEATH, not just a harsh scolding).

I don't think your sins are worse than any I might commit or have committed to make myself clear

sexual impulses all arise from the same place in every one of us...I don't think your impulses are any more special than the next person who is intent on continuing in sin

this in particular is plain baloney

you do not seem to realize the struggle against sin is real for everyone...Christian or not...the difference is that we ADMIT we have sinned and some of us have far worse struggles then you could begin to realize

God does not hand out excuses and a frame of mind that makes excuses, is not wanting to end the cycle IMO

Now committing sin is ok because it's a disability!?

No. Sin is a disgusting monster, that smells so horrific, God can't even be in it's presence.

I once rationalized a situation to the point of thinking I was an exception.

I was not.

God in His mercy, pulled me out...He gave me a choice through someone, and I picked the hard choice...I left the situation.

I suffer the consequences to this day.

However, God makes good come out of even that!

In fact, He refines us like silver and gold until we come out pure!!! (not saying I am pure yet LOL! well, positionally, which is where God WANTS us to see ourselves )


Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. Isaiah 48:10

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Malachi 3

This is irrelevant. Physical/sexual attraction is not dependent on gender. Besides, if God embodies both male and female characteristics... and created MAN in his image... then man also has both male and female characteristics.

If being a Christian is dependant on believing in His teachings, then can you really claim to be homosexual and a follower of Jesus Christ? Aside from claiming to be from the God of Abraham, who does not accept homosexuality, He also told us Himself that God made man and woman, and that no one was to separate the two.

Can a murderer follow Christ?
How about a glutton?
Or one who is profane with their word?

I brought up the term 'bisexual', not 'homosexual'.

Attraction is not action.

No, I dont believe you can do any of those and be a Christian. If you do not repent of them, you have not accepted Him.

And bisexuality is an attraction to the same gender, even if it includes the opposite gender as well, therefore it qualifies as homosexuality.

By your same logic, bisexuality is an attraction to the opposite gender, even if it includes the same gender as well, therefore it qualifies as heterosexuality.

Depends; depends on approach. There is a wrong way and a right way to call your brother or sister to repent.

Using Paul as an example, we know from his own writings that he was a repentant sinner. Yes, he was guilty of sin, and yes he repented of what he did. Just like all Christians, we must repent of our sins.

And thats completely irrelevant, the issue is is that practicing homosexuality is a sin, it doesnt matter if you also participate in heterosexual relations. And even with that, if you do it outside of marriage, you are in sin. We are given rules to live by. If we repent of sin, He will forgive us, that is written all over the bible. But if we continue in them, and refuse to repent, we will not be saved. That is the message of the bible, the very book that makes up Christianity.

Yes, telling them that God has called for us to repent of our sins is what we must do.
