These men it says in this video were teaching that righteousness is a gift which only comes from the Lord Jesus Christ - not our own works of self-righteousness.

Let's see what the scripture has to say about righteousness to see the "horribleness" of this.

Righteousness is a gift - not something "we do to earn it or maintain it" - it comes from Christ Himself because we are in Him.

I can give you guys what the scriptures say about righteousness and believers that are "in Christ" now. Everyone can believe what they want too.

The understanding of the new creation in Christ and the new identity of the believer is paramount to living the true Christian life.


Here it says our spirit ( the inner person that is a new creation in Christ ) is alive because of righteousness that it is it.

Romans 8:10 (NASB)

Here righteousness is a gift - you don't earn it.

We have grace reigning in our lives because of righteousness in us.

Here we have the breastplate of righteousness - which is the armor of God that we are to be strong in.

This talks about the new man in Christ - the new creation. which has been created in righteousness.

We that are in Christ have the Lord's righteousness now in our inner man that is in Christ.

I will say that I have noticed that you usually remain very civil in discussions. I remember after the very long debate in the Christmas thread ( we were on opposite sides, haha) that you ended your participation with a post stating that you considered us all your brothers and sisters in the Messiah and didn't judge anyone for celebrating the holiday even though you didn't observe it. I took note of that. A lot of others in that discussion that shared your views were insinuating that the rest of us were pagans, but you never went there. I also thought you were being decent in this thread. I noticed your one post earlier in this thread about the Father being able to reach us if we are sincere even if we have believed incorrect doctrine.

I am beginning to see the real trend of an approach.
Mix up all the boundaries, the qualities, the meanings, and then present a worldly you are
ok message sprinkled with all the positive reassuring messages you can think of.

Flattery - you are not going to hell, no matter how you behave God has forgiven you.
You are Christ, in the heavenlies, and you do not have to do anything.
Peace, you are a child of God, you are just agreeing with God you are a child of God.
And because you are now a child of God, you should behave because that is what loved
children do.

Now some in the congregation might actually read their bibles and listen to Jesus, repent,
walk in His ways and take it seriously. But most, they do their best, they are forgiven, going
to heaven because Christ has given them a free pass.

I would call this a lukewarm gospel worthy of being spewed out. It is just happy clappy, lets not
upset anyone clap trap.

Many are called, few are chosen. The narrow way. Carry your cross daily. Pure in heart. Suffer
hardship. Walk without compromise. Let your yes be yes and your no be no.

A drunken adulterer would be happy in an HG congregation, and feel God accepted them and there
was no need to change, because it is actually impossible, and only the religious hypocrites preach
victory and overcoming sin.
