I'm just remembering that because they have never felt this above-human level relationship with Jesus, they will never know what we're talking about.

Amen,

How can you know love and forgiveness and what true grace is if you have never experienced it.

Like you said, there is no hope in a gospel which can be lost. If there is no hope. how can their be faith.

if there is no faiht, how can their be salvation *we have been saved by grace through faith) No faith. No saved!

This sounds like a merri-go round.

Do we not get married because we might get divorced?
This is the logic being presented here about the subject of our souls.

We seek salvation because we want to resolve our sinful state, our lost and hopeless
condition, and we trust Christ because He can deal with it, and demonstrates this by
cleansing our consciences and lifting the heavy load of guilt from our shoulders.

Now this is how we know we are saved when we show the love He has planted within
to others.

But the whole idea we only seek God because we are so insecure we need a caste iron
guarantee before we will trust is absurd. We trust Christ because He is the Son of God
and He has the power to save. We know as long as we have faith in Him we are safe.

Any child knows their safety resides in their parents, and if they go they have serious
problems. But whatever the conditions Jesus puts on us, we have no other choice to
find life, unless ofcourse you prefer the world and it is really all just a fake faith and trust.

It is a merry go round.

If you think it is by your works at following your 8 steps to heaven then if you falter at one of your steps you will lose salvation.

Then you have to start your steps all over.

Or if some legalist tells you that you are not as holy as they are I suppose you fall off the merry go round and have to try to get back on it.

Very sad to rely on your own works and understanding, or worse yet, the understanding of some other legalist.

I know it doesn't make sense and it makes all the workers and legalists mad, but we aren't saved by what we do and don't do. We are saved by Grace through faith. That's pretty amazing.

So we rely on Gods Grace and have faith. That's what Christians do. Call it Hyper Grace if you want. Try to preach against it. You're not going to change a Christians mind who has been to Christ. They already know better. The whole world had fooled us up to the point that we came to Christ. The ability for the world or anyone in it to fool us again is removed by coming to Christ.

All of our answers are in Christ. All of our blessings are in Christ. Let's not let the world or anyone in it attempt to remove our focus.

Matthew 14:29-31
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

The same thing happens when someone convinces you of all the works you need to do in order to stay saved. You take your focus off of Christ and His Work and you place the focus on your own. That is when you begin to sink. Come to Christ and let your complete focus be on Him and His Work and see how He Blesses you.

Grace is attacked by those who call it hyper.

Now faith is attacked by people who call it WOF.

Salvation is also attacked by people telling you that it can be lost.

We should just follow these legalists around and see what they hate so we can know we are on the right track.... lol

It looks like these 3 things are all attacked by the same people. They hate grace, faith and salvation. I suppose if you think Salvation can be lost you can't believe in Grace or Faith either. You attack all of them.

If someone has more faith than you should you try to belittle them and tell them they are un-biblical? Why? For what benefit? Shouldn't you just say "Hey good for you. How did you come to gain that faith?"

No. Don't do that. Someone might think you are weaker in the faith than your brother.... lol

What do you think about a person who computer generates all of his med-large posts? Who uses a computer program to post intelligent & "personal" posts?
How can such a person be honest? How can he care when he runs a program that speaks for him?

If scripture on the awesome work of Christ in obtaining forgiveness of sins for us that He loves dearly - is against a rule. Then this forum is not Christian in any sense of the word. Of course that is NOT true.

It's just some people cannot refute what the scriptures say so they have to resort to mocking and insults to try to discredit the work of Christ for us because of His love and grace.

It's just the nature of the beast...All is well....:)....

Even when I am faithless, He is faithful. He does not depend on me, He has to remain true to himself.

I begin to see the frustration of believers.

The power of the gospel is to convict people of sin. It is the reason why Jesus came.
The people of Israel spent centuries denying God, disobeying Him and in the end where
dragged off to Babylon because they failed to face the fact they were sinners and stop sinning.

Now here we have people who in theory know Christ, have all the biblical facts and theology
before them, but have no conviction of sin or sense of a desire to repent and humble themselves.

No they would rather parade God has forgiven them while they continue as before.

https://gotquestions.org/seared-conscience.html

Paul identifies those who have a seared conscience in 1 Timothy 4:1–2:
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.”

In this passage, we learn three things about false teachers who lead others into apostasy:
1) they are mouthpieces for evil spirits, since they promulgate “things taught by demons”;
2) they are hypocritical liars, since they wear a mask of holiness but are full of falsehood; and
3) they are unscrupulous, since their consciences have been cauterized.

This explains much.

How can false teachers lie with no shame and spread deception with no compunction? Because they have seared consciences. They are past feeling that lying is wrong.

The above is why everything bounces off these people.

In the great revivals of the past people came under great conviction of sin and
wanted to get right with God. But these guys laugh at their sin and say it is those
who weep and mourn who are the hypocrites trying to earn salvation.

Woe unto these unrepentant sinners for great will be the judgement against them
They have forgotten they used to feel true conviction drawing them to repent.

This was written to the church, to believers.
2Cor 7:8For though I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it—for I see that that letter caused you sorrow, though only for a while— 9I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. 10For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

not sure where you got that I was a witch out of anything I said. Celtic Christian has nothing to do with witchcraft or anything like that.
In your original post you said, "Celtic tradition" so I looked up the term because I was unfamilar with it. This is what it said,

Celtic Wicca is a modern tradition of Wicca that incorporates some elements of Celtic mythology. It employs the same basic theology, rituals and beliefs as most other forms of Wicca." And of course "Wicca" is witchcraft." In this post you used the term "Celtic Christian" and after looking it up I now understand what you meant. You see, I learned something today and please accept my apologies.

this makes no sense to me (just being honest) how can you have 100% assurance if it can be lost. Maybe 95 % assurance or 99% , But 100%? That does not make sense. See my point?

I guess you said "I" (EG) in your quote - you didn't say I (Chester) couldn't!! LOL!

If you have 100% assurance then salvation can't be lost.

The percentage must be less than 100 if you think it can be lost.

Such as, what could cause you to lose it? Then you would have to figure out the likelihood of that event occurring. When you figured that out you could say you had 95% assurance, or 50% assurance or whatever percent.

Then, you would have to go back and figure out who it is that saves. It must be your works that compel God to save you. Right? Surely God doesn't just decide based on no criteria?

So once you figure out which works it was that compelled God to save you then perhaps you could be re-saved after you initially lost your first salvation.

Then your assurance percentage could probably go up into the 90th percentile. Possibly in the highest 90th percentile.

But if you were fooled once then there is probably some chance, no matter how small, that you could be fooled again. So you could never really get to the 100% on your work and understanding.
