I begin to see the frustration of believers.
The power of the gospel is to convict people of sin. It is the reason why Jesus came.
The people of Israel spent centuries denying God, disobeying Him and in the end where
dragged off to Babylon because they failed to face the fact they were sinners and stop sinning.
Now here we have people who in theory know Christ, have all the biblical facts and theology
before them, but have no conviction of sin or sense of a desire to repent and humble themselves.
No they would rather parade God has forgiven them while they continue as before.

Paul identifies those who have a seared conscience in 1 Timothy 4:1–2:
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.”
In this passage, we learn three things about false teachers who lead others into apostasy:
1) they are mouthpieces for evil spirits, since they promulgate “things taught by demons”;
2) they are hypocritical liars, since they wear a mask of holiness but are full of falsehood; and
3) they are unscrupulous, since their consciences have been cauterized.
This explains much.
How can false teachers lie with no shame and spread deception with no compunction? Because they have seared consciences. They are past feeling that lying is wrong.
The above is why everything bounces off these people.
In the great revivals of the past people came under great conviction of sin and
wanted to get right with God. But these guys laugh at their sin and say it is those
who weep and mourn who are the hypocrites trying to earn salvation.
Woe unto these unrepentant sinners for great will be the judgement against them
