I'm pretty active ZT and eat lots of fruits and veggies. Maybe my body just needs less? I don't know.
Are you skipping meals? Skipping meals really slows down the metabolisn because it makes the body think there is a famine and it goes into self-preservation mode (puts brakes on metabolism to conserve fat for energy).

If youre not skipping meals, maybe you should try taking probiotics. It wouldn't be from eating too much fruits or veggies or too much exercise. I know that when it happens to me and I take a probiotic supplement the hunger pangs return like immediately. I take acidopholus in pill form from walmart. They're not very expensive. They're like $4 for 30 tablets, but I only take them when I need them. They help indigestion too.

I have a half of a grilled chicken lettuce wrap from Chick-Fil-A...because a whole is too much.

Yahweh_Is_Gracious, I'd like to point out I'm eating dinner at 4pm like elderly people do. Just want you to know I'm doing
my part. At what point will you be 40 and can join me?

No, I don't skip meals. I used to but don't anymore. A certain person with a nick starting with Dino and ending in 246 suggested I stop skipping meals enough times I finally listened and stopped doing that months ago.

Do you eat after 4pm, because that is too early to stop unless you eat breakfast at 3am. Going from 4pm til the next morning will put your body in self-preservation mode (starvation mode). Ideal eating times is every 3 hours, 4 hours at most with last meal 3 hours before bedtime.

Here is a WebMD article written by a registered dietician about how often we should eat (snacks and meals)...

I'll eat again. I had the other half of a wrap at lunch. I had breakfast before that. I'll eat another small meal before my evening is done.

I think there are some days you're not as hungry as you are other days. I have days when everything seems meh to me. I wouldn't stress unless it's common.

Are you TRYING to put WebMD out of business? :p If people didn't stress about stuff they would get no traffic at all.

Hahaha...you make me smile.

I'm not worried. I almost wonder if for the first time in my memorable life my body is doing what it's supposed to and this is normal...I've just never experienced it.

In regards to not feeling hungry, there is also the mental aspect... your brain can override your hunger if you are very busy or your mind is preoccupied with something, which is what happens to people who have a serious case of depression (not saying anyone here has depression), which is why a lot of patients with depression don't eat and end up losing weight - especially in the elderly. Same thing with anxiety.. basically anything that keeps your mind preoccupied can override its hunger programming...

I wish it was easy to fix my diet here. It's not... However, I am pretty proud of the next to nothing I've gained. 16-18 lbs. I'm almost done here!

My birthday is in January. I won't wade into the discussion about eating times and quantities because what I do is all wrong according to current advice, but it's all I can manage to do. I will say though that eating at 4pm is silly in my mind. I'm more of a continental fellow. I prefer my supper time to be between 8 and 9pm. I have to have supper on the table here at home at 6pm for my Dad, and it drives me bonkers to eat that early.

If you're cutting back on sugar and carbohydrates your body stops craving it.
