Anyone familiar w/ the apps Stash, Invest, and Robinhood?

I'm starting to get into stocks and investing but, am a little confused and reading on some material online has also confused me. I've invested in 4 different things on Stash already but i feel like in order to see any results, i'm going to have to invest over $1000+ in each account.

Can anyone shed some light into these apps or give me some stocks/investing tips? I'm a newbie and could use some help.

Good for you, investing.
I recommend this book to people who are relatively young and novices regarding personal finances and investing. It's a pretty comprehensive overview:

The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke

This is the guy to listen to....

good Christian dude who knows how to play the stock market and also provides free advice on his weekly stock picks.....

https://traderschoice.net/About-Us.html

his ebook is a great quick read 120 pages of good advice

"Money matters: important advice for Life and Options trading" free ebook you can find links to his website on his youtube channel (link above)....

My advice though is to stay out of the stock market as it is very volatile and invest in physical gold/silver....they are real assets not paper/fiat currency and have stood the test of time since the dawn of civilization......

The stock market is like playing russian roulette....eventually you will get hurt....and the current stock market is artificially kept alive by the fed using it's own money to buy/trade stocks so that it appears to have economic activity when in reality the markets have been stagnant since late 08/early 2009.....

I forget the term but there is a "buffer" staff that buys/trades stocks to artificially appear as if the economy is moving if you will that the fed uses to keep the stock market alive when in reality it is completely dead....and also if the Nasdaq or Dow falls too low they turn on the computer kill switch to shut off all computer trading....it's happened recently around june or july and also China's markets have the same trade kill switch if the points drop too much......

bottom line now is not a good time to invest in stocks/mutual funds/ira's/401k's/CD's etc...but to cash those out and get out of the market heck even Warren Buffet is divesting himself of these bs assets and investing in precious metals.....

Keep in mind that if you are investing under 1k, it'll be difficult to be well diversified in individual stocks. There are things like index funds and etfs that will give you more leverage for smaller capital. If you're just starting out, it is WELL worth your time to do some broad overview reading because there are soooo many investment options, you want to set an informed strategy for yourself that encompasses your risk tolerance, time horizon, savings goals...that'll dictate your investment choices.

Gold and silver carry their own risks. Ytd is up but people lost plenty if you look over the past 5 and 10 years. It's useful perhaps as an inflation hedge. Both can be just as volatile as equities, sometimes moreso.

Do not cash out of 401k's or IRAs if you are under age 59.5 unless you absolutely absolutely absolutely have to...otherwise you pay unnecessary tax penalties and you lose the benefit of tax deferred (or with Roth tax free) growth. Use them to your benefit.

This is probably drilling into too much detail than necessary at this point.

Start with determining what you're looking to accomplish maniastar, how comfortable you are with risk/how much risk is needed to realistically achieve those goals, your time frame and I recommend

1. Reading the money book (full title in my initial response) or any similar comprehensive book
2. Reading about asset allocation (this will also give you some insight on realistic growth rates)
3. Playing with time value of money calculators online.

Thank you --- I will definitely look into what you suggested. I do want to learn more about this and not just invest in things I don't know anything about (which is what I did start doing) but if I can correct myself now, and do it correctly, it'd be great!!

Everyone has recommendations. Mine is a book called Making Mammon Serve You. It's written by a minister who is also a certified financial planner.

He said a lot of the same things Hellooo said, especially the part about first identifying your goals, what your risk tolerance is and how much time you have to meet your goals.

Because of that book I now actually have a retirement plan. A basic Roth IRA, mostly in large-cap and REITs.

Set yourself up a roth IRA and put as much as you can afford. Unless you can afford more than the limit for a roth. I think its 5500 a year, but may depend on age. I have one and then I have a nutual fund that I put some in that makes some money that I can draw on in emergencies. Don't mess with silver and gold right now. It beats inflation sometimes, but if you buy bullion, you pay more.than spot value and if you sell,.you get less. Precious metal and other commodity investing is for high rollers.
