A lot of people are active posters - however it has been spread over a long time frame. There are people who have been members on here for 6 years and there are a few who have been on for just over 2 years and they have almost up to 48,000 posts.

That's about 50 posts a day.
What even... I average like 2.6 posts per day. I don't think I've ever reached 50 posts in a day lol. I can't even imagine sitting on here that long and having that much to say.

It's what some forums call a health meter. Its based on how active you are in the forums. Its something to do how often you post compared to how long you've been a member... If you take a hiatus like a month or so you'll see some green bars disappear and you cant just make a bunch of posts to get them back. Its some kind of algorythym thing..
Actually, maybe you're right Gabe. On my old account, I always wondered why my bars were stuck on 2. Even if my rep power wasn't low. I was on hiatus for a year and a half.

This is why I really wanted to open up a discussion about the internet and ask people what their experiences were. It is fascinating!

Internet forums (and CC) are a place where people you’d never know of or interact with, get a chance to take the soapbox and share their opinions.

That’s all well and good and in fact that is really the purpose of it all – to facilitate such communication.

Since this is a Christian site, which covers a plethora of things, people genuinely do come here to seek answers or guidance related to matters of God. It is not just a “biking forum” or a “harry potter club”.
People bring the deepest issues that they can have and share it on here.

THAT is completely all right.

It is also completely all right that some half insane, no training in counseling or formal education and even Scriptural knowledge person posts advice – some of which borders on breaking up families.
It is up to the person asking after all, to take that input.

So the most anyone can do is call for discernment, point out such behaviors and pepper a very interesting discussion with personal anecdotes.
Then again, you never know when a nut will explode and just cause a ruckus about all of it ! :D

[Unfortunately that took place, and I really hope the mods look into it and see if they can facilitate such a discussion.]

This is also another psychologically interesting aspect.

I don’t know about all of you – when there’s a disagreement and I don’t care for a person – I just click the “X” button.

It’s amazing how people can go from 0 to crazy about many of these things. Just from conversations with a lot of people and also observing some of these posts – some of these people might come across as so absolutely holy and “normal”.

They just drip with so much piety and have no problems correcting others for such and such act but their reactions to any form of dissent or anything that they perceive that would shake their online identity just exposes so much insanity!

It’s just weird. It’s like a last ditch effort in some web of manipulation? Maybe the people who are better versed in psychology might be able to pinpoint some of this.

[Again so glad, I am not interacting with any of them]

Ok. Streams of Thoughts – out - steps off the soapbox :D!

So I took a mini-vacation and rented a car to go to L.A. to visit my grown-up kids.

On the way back north, I took Highway 1 to enjoy the scenery. I got little speed-happy with the car, forgetting that it has a lot more power than what I am used to. Soon enough...

CHP: Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?

Me: umm....because the LORD wanted me to tell you about Jesus!?

no...it turns out that that was not the reason at all.

My friends 19 year old daughter was missing, she's been found safe. I don't know exactly what happened and I'm not asking, just glad that she's okay. It's not always easy to be a teenager I know that for sure.

I also have a horrible headache and am conflicted about an issue but I can't get into it. I just wish life wasn't so hard. I think this is Day 6 of tears. Stress and running around and helping everyone get everything done. A birthday party at an annoying kid's place Saturday. I want to breathe and scream and punch something.

Sorry just frustrated.

That sucks, Steve. Out of all the millions of speeders on our state's highways, you end up being the one that gets pulled over by one of the 3 cops on the freeway (because I only see a cop on the freeways about twice a year, unless its an accident scene)... Either you're driving a shiny sports car that stands out like a ferrari, or it was just "amazing" luck. :(

Thanks Zero, I will be okay. Sometimes my anxiety rears its ugly head and I feel crazy. But it will get better, especially after Halloween. I've had to make these stupid costumes for school for their reports and every year it ends up being a bunch of crap. Last year I had to make a jellyfish and a blue mushroom. The year before I had to make Saturn. I wish they'd just not have them dress up. I guess Halloween isn't pc enough so we have to call it a "learning experience ", when we do cyber school these bs issues will be done.

This kid can come any day now. I'm done with this stupid waddle thing that's happening. That, and it's uncomfortable to constantly feel like I need to use the ladies room, no matter how recently I've been there.

On a different note... I need someone with a little more knowledge in day planners, to tell me what I'm doing right and wrong in mine. It's not working to talk to the brother I usually ask questions like this... He doesn't know anything about day planners, he is not interested at all in what I'm doing.
Do I go with less or more creativity of my own in it, or do I let the person who has it, be creative in it? Let them work out how they want it designed? Do I just leave it as a bunch of lines and boxes, and a few words, or do I "put more flowers on it", like my husband suggested. Do I give the background colors, or do I let whoever, color them how they like? Too many questions, not enough answers. I need a creative buddy :(
I should probably get off the computer, and get my son off the table...

Okay. Calm down. It was only my opinion. It's your life and the choice is yours. :)

Wow I guess the teacher/s think parents have nothing but time on their hands. :( Maybe a bunch of parents should get together and voice a complaint or sign a petition or something.

Wait... what? No, your brother is being silly. There's nothing appropriate about Gaston. Except his ego. ;)
Sorry, that should read 'There's nothing INappropriate about Gaston'.

I remember she mentioned she PM'd you (or so if I remember correctly) to settle your differences. I actually think it's a good opportunity. But that's just me... and it's none of my business.
Problem is when you encounter people like my aunt for whom "settle our differences" or "discuss this" really means, I'll keep repeating my opinion to you until you agree with it. And she takes any disagreement or not wanting to hear her opinion fart (ok funny typo so I'll leave it in, but that was supposed to be far) too personally.
