Yes, stop believing the Bible to be the infallible word of God. Be your own authority on what God has said. Search all the translations and Greek lexicons and you determine which words are right. You are absurd to think God can translate His words into another language perfectly and without error.

That is the crux of the bible issue... AUTHORITY. Inerrant word means the word is the authority, no inerrant word means I am the authority. Most people are way more comfortable with the later.

Wow I have been reading through these many posts.....and like just in my own life I have read many different versions of the bible and nowhere in God's Inerrant Word does it say that His ppl are only to read a certain version.

But you said "nowhere in God's inerrant Word", which of the translations have you found to be inerrant?

The Holy Spirit worked through many men, one author many vessels.
We don't say Moses has more Authority than Luke or Matthew.

Why then do you insist that one translator has greater authority than other, if both are moved by the Holy Spirit?

Man did not and cannot translate God's word, it's impossible. God is the only one capable of translating his word. God moved the original writers to write EXACTLY what God wanted written down. In the same way, God moved the inspired bible translators to write down EXACTLY what God wanted written down.

A God inspired translation will not and can not contain errors, it's contrary to the nature of God.

Another catch phrase that people who can't answer the question says lol. I ask a plain simple question, you can't answer it so you call me a cultist... Go figure! I thought this was a bible discussion forum where questions are posed and debate follows.... Not name calling. So sad. :(

the minute you can stop masquerading your intentions is the moment I stop...you are here to convince everyone of the need to be KJO and as such if you continue to derail threads with this you will be reported to the mods....

Your intention and charade is up,...for the record I did not say you personally were a cultist, I said you stated another cultist catch phrase....

I will stop using certain words to describe the KJO movement and posters, which is wrong on my behalf...

Just love the way you guys bait and trap and then kill.....

Let me explain my logic.... It's really simple. The person said she had been reading God's inerrant word, I asked which of the multiple contradictory bibles is the inerrant word. What's the trap? I simply want to know which bible she thinks is inerrant... No bait, no trap and no kill, just a simple question.

Apparently you're used to dealing with some sick dishonest unchristian people. I am a Christian, I'm not sick and I'm not dishonest! I don't bait people or try to set traps for them. So could you please stop treating me like I am.

Ok, there are thousands of languages in the World. Do you know the versions of all the inspired translations in the other languages, or, to phrase it your way:

Is it ridiculous for God to translate the Bible into several thousand pure inerrant translations?

I do not know anything about foreign languages so I don't know which ones are inspired and which aren't. But I do know that God is capable of translating his word into all languages, he did it in the book of Acts.

It is not ridiculous of God to translate the bible into several thousand pure inerrant translations, what are these people supposed do, learn English, or Greek or Hebrew. How are the people in Kenya supposed to study the word to show themselves approved unless they have a bible they can read in their own language?

Should the bible only be available to Ancient Greek speakers, or Hebrew speakers?

So if God has only inspired one perfect version in any language, who is responsible for errant ones?

I think it starts with God then works it way through Satan and then eventually down to man. I believe the bible teaches that principle in 2 Chronicles 18.

19 And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith?
21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

In that story Ahab rejected the word of the Lord, he didn't like what the prophet was prophesying. So the Lord asked who would entice Ahab to go up to Ramothegilead so that Ahab could fall there. Then a spirit came to the Lord and offered to be a lying spirit in the mouths of Ahabs prophets.... And the Lord sent him to deliver false prophecies to the king and Ahab went up and fell.

Or it could be as simple as man trying to interpret God's word without inspiration of God which of course is impossible because who can know the mind of God... No one can. Only God can translate his word. From the bible study I have done, I lean toward the first explanation. God gets very upset when we reject the word of the Lord.

The modern analogy of 2 Chronicles 18 would people who don't like what the bible says because it doesn't fit "their" view of the God that they made up in their head. So God sends a lying spirit in the mouths of the prophets and the modern day prophets rewrite the bible the way the lying spirit leads them.... Leading them to a great fall.

some of us just prefer to read modern English with modern words......... just sayin.

I truly apologize if that's what you get from me. I'd rather elevate the word of God and let it stand alone. The word of God is my final authority. I am thankful, however, that I can hold in my hands to read and study that is the perfect words of God without error in my language.

yeah

no

YOU are your own final authority

we have not yet attained perfection here on terra...

so let me guess...are your next words going to be you telling me that the perfect referred to in I Corinthians 13?

8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

is the KJV of the Bible?

honestly, it seems you may want to limit God to YOUR OWN understanding!

My understanding comes from the bible, where does your understanding of God come from?

I thought you received your understanding from the Holy Spirit?

ok well, I can play mind and word games too but I really dislike them

you asked post a question...I gave you a thought inducing answer...in other words, without the Bible how is anyone saved and for that matter is it the Bible that saves?

do you not see where you fall so short you have no land to stand on?

here is your question:

could you show me the gospel in the stars? Can you use the stars or nature to explain how that I'm a sinner and that I need Jesus to save me from my sins?

can you answer how God got in touch with Abram? or anyone for that matter?

God is not the Bible...God is not bound into the Bible

most people HEAR about God...they do not READ about Him and that goes all the way back to....well I think it's Adam teaching his sons

Kind of. God is indeed not the bible. However, God will not act contrary to what He tell us He will or will not do in His word. Do we not compare what the Holy Spirit says to scripture to ascertain if what we are hearing is indeed from the Holy Spirit? Believers have a direct line of communication with the Lord, and that is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in them. We know for a fact that the Holy Spirit will never contradict what scripture says.
