Celebrating Halloween, is it wrong or not a big deal?

don't mean to sound 'olde or new', but we, hopefully, like Jesus, don't really get offended
or feel the need to 'defend' ourselves just because someone or some religion disagrees with us..,.
so often it brings us such joy to feel Jesus' Love for another, wherever they are in their
'growth pattern', this is a special gift to be held sacred, this special feeling of Love for another....

it's just natural and normal that we all have our OWN personal views and 'interpretations' of what
others are saying or trying to express../we love them for themselves and learn to accept that their
lives and paths are just a little bit different or a lot different than our own and we always pray for our
and their own growth and Spiritual knowledge concerning all things pertaining to Jesus Christ, as
He leads us into the
future...

If you have any further references i.e more videos or explanations of scriptures to show the audience that would be fantastic. The more they know, the more educated they are on a subject the more empowered they'll be in their fight with the enemy. Any obstruction to this comes from satan himself wishing to keep us in the darkness - he works through all kinds of means to do this.

Amen, oldethennew! Praise God! The Holy Spirit is the one who keeps us all, guides us all and teaches us all not to be afraid because he has overcome the world. We can most assuredly rest in God's love and do everything with a thankful heart toward Christ.

II Corinthians 10:12 reads: "When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise." Jesus is our only standard and he was a friend of sinners. He loved everyone and treated them with kindness, gentleness and respect. If we have faith in the Lord alone, we can do all things through Jesus Christ, which strengthens us. So long as we love God and treat one another the way we want to be treated, Jesus says this fulfills the whole law. Hallelujah!

All this bickering is even more astonishing when you realize that the Word teaches God's children not to acknowledge one another according to the flesh, or by anything outwardly. We are spiritual beings.

Romans 14: Some whose faith is strong will eat meat, the weaker brother might only eat herbs. But neither is to despise the other or criticize the other. God is able to make us all stand in Him. Someone may regard one day as important, and some may regard some other day more important. Both are fine, so long as you give thanks to God in everything.

We are to love and respect each other, not humiliate and condemn one another. That's is the truth of God, not man's opinion.

At the end of the day many that call people names, etc are just babes themselves and have not come to full age...I had 1 such person continue to condemn a lady in our church...I went over to the person condemning a and said...

There is no condemnation in Jesus Christ...leave the other sister alone...

The person looked at me, got indignant and her best super spiritual religious tone...Pastor there is no such verse like in the Bible....how dare you try to make something up...to keep me from operating in my gift of discernment...I asked her to open her Bible to Romans 8.1, she did...I asked her to read it aloud...she did...as soon as she stopped reading it she looked at me and before she could say a word, I said...also you do not have the gift of discernment, you are just judging people....

She stuffed her Bible back into her purse and said a few selective adjectives under her breath about me...which are far too rude and harsh to repeat here....and she stomped her way out of the church house and we never saw her again....

I did not get involved until after the lady who was being condemned went to that lady alone, then took another witness with her and then came to me...

Matt 18 works and so does being a Pastor that will not tolerate that kind of religious activity in the House...

It upsets me, since I'm one of the people who have been called those names. THANK GOD the holidays are almost all done with. Then we can let ridiculous threads like this one die..

I'm sorry Blue, never expected this thread to escalate the way it did. I think yes it's wrong to condemn other Christians and call them demons because that is the opposite of a what a Christian should do. We should be teaching love and not casting judgment. That's God's job

It's the only copy of the video on youtube. it has nothing to do with Chuck Smith and I am not familiar with Chuck Smith.

And for the record, the video should have a warning label because there is quite a bit of graphic content regarding the origins of Halloween and the occult. My apologies for not putting one on my post. However, it is good ammunition for our defense of the faith and walking in the ways of God!

It may be mentioned? I haven't seen it in 2 years. However All Saints Day and All Saints Eve (also All Souls Day) are not in the bible and therefore not Church holidays

Agreed....yet it is wise to study ALL church history....I am not RCC, but RCC started all saints eve and all saints day....

For us to then state Halloween has pagan roots is false, because Halloween started as a church day to celebrate the saints that laid down their lives in the church....

Another example is this saying...Love the sinner, but hate the sin.....that exact saying is not found anywhere word for word in the Bible...yet I have heard many a preacher state it is...and because of this distorted communicated Bible knowledge we have thousands of Christians quoting something that is not found word for word in the Bible, but from a false religion...

the saying actually came from Mahatma Ghandi, who had distaste for hypocritical Christians and was a hard core Hindu....and died a hardcore Hindu....his good works probably never saved him...yet thousands of Christians use his saying and call it Bible

The whole time that I've witnessed, she's done nothing but explain why she abstains and posts some verses that helped her come to her conclusions. Then all of a sudden here came the rage and wrath, despite her clearly expecting others to come to their own conclusions.

So does a guilty conscience need no accuser, or will a hit dog holler? Whichever the case, your aggression is misplaced. Maybe those things you mentioned are upsetting, but Demi didn't do them.

Okay... It just seemed like there was undue pushback against her point of view, particularly from you.

I think a thicker skin might be necessary, especially for you, since you don't pull any punches yourself. It surprises and somewhat confuses me, given your usual delivery, that you're so easily offended.
