He comes to fulfil,

Matthew 5:17
17 | Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.

But what law is fulfiled?
for example:

Hebrews 10:11 - 14
11 | And every priest indeed standeth day by day ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, the which can never take away sins:
12 | but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 | henceforth expecting till his enemies be made the footstool of his feet.
14 | For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

because, before Jesus, the jews offered sacrifice everyday
Hebrews 7:27
27 | who needeth not daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for the 'sins' of the people: for this he did once for all, when he offered up himself.

What law did He come to fulfill.?

I understand what you're saying, but many others won't understand. They will think you are saying we save ourselves and make ourselves better. Be patient with them. :)

You are truly one who understands ! and I thank you for not falsly condemning me ! there is no question that we can do anything of and by ourselves, of course we can't ! and we will always know Christ as our source of strength - it does not mean we will remain helpless and useless to God.. There is work to be done in eternity and we must become strong like Jesus so God our Father can use us in His work ! Had God not been able to depend on Jesus doing HIS part where would WE be ??

That is very good and also shows our need of the Commandments - they show us our lack.
If you do away with them you can never change for the better yourself, because you totally depend on what Jesus has done.
But we must not confuse the things we can NOT do with the things we COULD do if we were in a fit state. Does God leave us in a broken, useless state ? of course not, that was not what He created us for !

This is what satan wants us to think The commands could not make Israel righteous people. what makes anyone think they will make us righteous people.

The commands are not what we need, Learning to love as Christ loved the church is what we need. Love fulfills the law. Not commands.

I agree, we need Christ ! but is He not the 'personification of all Righteousness ? HE kept the Commandments while living on earth so why should we not do the same ? HOW are you going to SHOW love in a practical way if you reject them ? Do we know how to love without instruction ?
Claiming Christ without actually walking with Him 24/7 is doing no good at all...it's just lipservice. And most Christians sadly do not walk with Him as His loyal Disciples !

As I have already said - some things we can not do and have to totally rely on Christ always.
But see - we/mankind has been ruined, damaged, mishandled and broken by satan and his false teachers - and all these we can be healed from by our gracious God and Savior Jesus Christ so that we can then be able to do what God had intended for us in the beginning !!!
I could say much more, but let's take it step by step. What do you think ? what is your opinion on this ? We are not meant to live eternally saying 'I can't' when we have so great a Savior, Healer and Redeemer as Jesus !

God doesn't need or want your "ability" only your availability.

Jesus did not walk around a in life, saying what command am I going to obey today. He walked around thinking about who was he going to serve today.

He did not fulfill the law by obeying commands, He fulfilled the law by serving in love (denying self) in everything he did.

There is a big difference in someone saying , I can not be righteous by following the law. Than saying I will serve God in love and by this, by nature fulfill the commands.

A husband who loves his wife does not cheat on her. If he does not love his wife. It does not matter how many times a day he reads, you shall not commit adultry, It will never stop him from sinning if an opportunity arises. Only love will stop. Fear will never work. Nor shame nor Law..

Available for what ? what good are you to Him if all you ever tell Him is that 'you can't do anything ?
How would you feel if your 30-40 year old son/daughter kept saying that to you ???
Get real ! even in Christ we have to grow up/mature and learn to do certain things for ourselves , being taught by Him !

Available to Christ, for Him to work through you. Those who are mature in Christ are those who have learned to depend upon Christ more and more, not less and less.

Amen...well said...nor is it in the keeping of Old Covenant rules like Sabbath keeping on Saturdays.

It depends on which aspect of the Law we're talking about. The Law of Sin and Death (The consequences of sin and disobedience?) That has expired.

The Law as a means of living? It's hasn't expired.

Friend, love and commandment-keeping are the same thing...many scriptures refer to that combination. In fact, everything God gives us works together for our good if we do it. And once we are walking with Christ 24/7 we will not have to think of what we should be doing next...the RIGHT thing will become a way of life, become our new nature. But until people put this into PRACTICE in their present life they will not experience it and find fault with those who do.

Faith in Christ is the Christian's "means of living", not the Law.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20

John (Yahanan) 15:5-16, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and letting My words; abide in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be done for you. In this is My Father glorified: when you produce much fruit; and in this way you become My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; continue in My love. If you keep My Commands, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's Commands, and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be complete. This is My Command: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

Colossians 3:24-25, “Knowing that from YHWH you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve Yahshua the Messiah. But he who does wrong will receive the reward for the wrong he has done, and there is no respect of persons.”

John 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

Mattithyah 16:27, “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His Malakim; and then He will reward every man according to his works.”

Yahchanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

Romans 2:12, "For as many as have sinned without the Law, will also perish without the Law, and as many as have sinned in the Law, will be judged by the Law."

Do you think Christ works better through a useless lump of flesh than He would on His own ? Do you think you are 'assisting Him by telling Him you can't do anything ? We all have to depend on Him to teach us so we too can be productive ! Does not mean you love or respect Him less - this is just your mis-understanding of the situation.
Look, if someone teaches you or gives you something of value that will last for ever you would be even more grateful...not less. Why do you put a negative spin on everything ?

Friend.

No they are not. You can obey a command and not love (I can chose to not sleep with a person. Love has nothing to do with it.

However, If I love (True love, gods love, not mans pseudo love) I will not break a command.

You can not equate that the way to obey a command is to read the command and live by it, In fact, it can not even tell you how to live by it, It can only guide you to maybe the fact you brok it. That is what the sermon on the mount proved. The letter of the law will never show us how to be righteous people. That was never its intended purpose. All it can do is show us we are sinners, and try to lead us to Christ.

What law is that? The law of Moses is the law of sin and death. Because unless you fulfil that law (moral perfection and perfect adherence to religious and civil laws) you are under a curse.

The law as a means of living is the law of love, Against which there is no law.

It does what the ten commands can never do. Show us how to live Christlike

I think that for God any ole bush will do. He is the Vine who does the producing, you are merely a branch, and you will never be more than a branch, so.......be a branch.

I was not talking about the 'letter of the law but the keeping of the Commandments in the love of Christ. If they were only to lead us to/as far as Christ then Christ would be lawless had they died with Him. That is utter nonsense---Jesus is the same yesterday as today and always--- so if He was walking this earth today He would keep His Fathers Commandments-period...or it would not be the same Jesus Mat 24v5, some people need to take a closer look at this.

Faith says, "I can't, only you can Lord". That is not something to be healed from nor that you should desire to be healed from.
Phil 4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. 11Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

It's not "I cant"..... It's really "I want an excuse not to".
