Weird full moon kind of night tonight. The schizophrenic lady who is a regular customer was really having a bad argument with whoever and The nosy lady who is also a regular customer started asking her why she didn't go to the Laundromat closer to her house and blah blah blah. It was loud and crazy, then my husband calls in the middle of all this to ask questions and then my regular Vietnamese man customer was in and as always asked me why all the machines were in use and why this and why that? Then my sweet customer who just picks up his laundry accidentally knocked over our log book and I had to put that all back together while the two ladies are arguing and the Vietnamese man was going on and one on to me about people who hog all the machines. You know what I did? I loudly said, ENOUGH! They all simmered down after that. CRAZY!!!
That would've been a perfect youtube moment! I never thought working at a laundromat could be so stressful.. :(

Usually Friday nights are quiet. We do get a lot of very unstable people that come in. What's also amazing is they think we're laundry experts. For example, how can I get this very old set in sauce stain out? Uh you can't. I tell people well pre treat it I mean for something that just happened. Or they'll have super filthy clothes and overfill the machine and they don't come out clean.

In Norway you can be loose your licence if you drive with summer tyres at winter
Well, today a police car somewhere in Norway couldn't get back up on the road ... because it had summer tyres.

*Imagines two police officers running after the drivers because they lost their licence*
(Nah, I don't think they will, but it would be a nice sight, eh?)

I'm actually a stickler for good grammar. I admire well written passages of writing. They just sound better to my virtual ears and they seem to convey messages in a more polished tone. When someone writes an article using bad grammar it irks me and makes me wonder how that person ever became a journalist.

On the other hand, I can always tell when someone simply has limited english speaking skills. That doesn't bother me because I know they are doing their best. It's when someone ain't be doing their grammar right and all that gets me.
I’m a writer. I cannot help but notice mistakes in almost every post on the forums. Not only misspellings, but also grammatical errors such as misplaced commas, colons, apostrophes, semicolons, dashes, and quotation marks; incomplete sentences; dangling participles and modifiers; incorrect comparisons; and a plethora of wrongly used or nonexistent words.

I have worked in business marketing and advertising for over 30 years. Editing has been a significant aspect of the job. When targeting an executive level prospect, using proper grammar is essential. A perceptive businessperson must provide exemplary business correspondence, use appropriate phone communication, and be effective and accurate in letter writing.

But just as most people come home from work and kick off their shoes and throw a pair of sweat pants on, I throw grammar skills aside when I come onto CC. It doesn’t matter to me if someone uses slang, misspells words, or doesn’t know the difference between they’re, there or their. It certainly doesn’t make me feel superior to recognize mistakes. In fact, I feel more at ease with folks who don’t make an issue of it.

I try to write on the forums as if I’m talking face to face with people. All kinds of people. I don’t wanna worry about impressing them with impeccable grammar, nor do I wanna make it my aim to correct their free speech. There is no all-or-nothing way of communicating to me. That’s too extreme... and it sounds too much like work! *ugh* LOL

I’m just thankful that I can be free to be myself with friends here who accept me as I am and am so grateful for the awesome people with whom I can fellowship in the liberty and love of Jesus Christ! Ya know?

It's snowing ....

The kind of snow that hasn't entirely made up it's mind whether to be sleet or snow.... for now it is turning the ground white though.

*Lynx whimpers disconsolately...

Last "winter" we had no snow at all. I say "winter" because it was winter in name only. (And the global warming people had a field day... er, field season.)

This looks like it's gonna be a cold winter, which means the anti-global-warming-people will be the ones saying "I told you so." I wish both sides would shut up. And I wish we would get some snow this year.

"You know your growing in grace when people notice you no longer correct there mistakes."

Or when you just can't be provoked by attacks from the enemy in your flesh but in your spirit you leave it to Christ, such a great feeling knowing God's love covers and protects you.
