*smacks Willie on the arm* Probably for the same reason that any christian wants to see their friends get saved. So they can be led out of deception and into God's truth.. :)

Why?..................................

I was devout, and I knew that according to the bible it was wrong.

So

in one of my last posts I was talking about God's love. You know the Bible says God so loved the whole world that He gave His son to die,for all. If God is real and if what He said was true why do you think He was so strong about homosexuality being wrong? God created sex,so He has no problem with sex or the enjoyment of it. Why would He pick out a group and just hate on them? Could there be a reason He set a limit on same sex? Could it be a loving reason? You know when you tell a child "no" as a parent the child always thinks the parent is being cruel. And they say "its for your own good" and we grow older and learn this is true. So perhaps God is the same way. Could it may be that He has a reason for saying no? Sin,all sin is bondage and it will lead to death. You know the Bible says that He doesn't want anyone to perish. So perhaps you might be looking at this in the wrong light.

As to your friend it seems you have a lot of respect for her. She wants you to be saved,God wants you to be saved. Hey,I don't even know you and I want you to be saved! I hope you might rethink your views on this and on God. There is a book called "Evidence that Demands a Verdict". If you are dealing with where you will spend eternity don't you think its worth an open minded investigation? Also Lee Strobel has very interesting books that ask some hard questions. He was a former atheist. I hope you will give it some honest thought.

I think God places all sexual sin in the same league because the body is the dwelling place of The Holy Spirit...so yeah sexual sin would be an abomination.

The same God who said "You shall love your neighbor as yourself" also said "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination". There is no contradiction.

She agrees that it's harmless from person to person. But that it's harmful to oneself's spirit.

I found this article while searching through Google. 35 Important Bible Verses About Homosexuality And Being Gay. I was wondering what are all the reasons that being gay is offensive towards God? Thank you for any help that you can give.
The Bible says that a man shall leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh,so because they are one flesh,God does not see sin,but He sees love.

God did not ordain that relationship for a man and a man to be together,or a woman and a woman to be together,so God does not see them as love, but lust of the flesh.

Also God designed our body parts for specific uses, like the nose smells,it is not for cocaine to be snorted up there, and the nose does not taste, for it is the nose, and so forth with the body parts, which when it comes to a man and a man,God did not make that part of the body for that usage, but for the use that God designed it for,so God sees it as lust, and an abomination.

Why are men sticking something up there that does not belong there, would they put a grenade in their mouth, they would not, because that is not what the mouth is for, unless they want to commit suicide,so as with homosexuality it is spiritual suicide.

Also this one I cannot figure out,but I do not want to figure it out,but I know it is sin,and lust, but how can a man be attracted to a man,for it would seem repulsive.

I believe that it is natural instinct for a man to gravitate towards a woman, and a woman towards a man, which if they are gay, they not only go against the spiritual realm, but they go against nature, which the Bible says it is a shame for a man to have long hair, for does not even nature itself teach you it is wrong, for you are putting yourself in a woman's stead.

But it is NOT harmless. If proper protection isn't used, you can get STD's. You can get murdered for what you believe about homosexuality.. THAT is NOT harmless. And your friend is as deceived as you are, if she thinks it is..

Listen I really don't care how you feel about it, you do you I'll do me.

Why on earth are you in a public forum then? You can't just state your opinion online and expect people not to share their opinion

No, I never called you hateful.nI just said be careful and treat others well so that they cam see you're a true Christian. I might not be a believer but I know what god wants from his people. You weren't being hateful and I never said you were. I'm annoyed that you keep complaining.
Why are you concerned with what God's people are doing when you can't please God yourself? Hebrews 11:6 - "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Two questions:

1. How can a christian actually believe that homosexuality is harmless?

2. How does a once-devoted christian suddenly become an unbeliever?

Bonus question:

How can ex-christian-turned-unbeliever say she knows the bible well, yet tries to deny what it says about homosexuality and what it does to the body?

I've seen many atheists say the same that they know the bible but yet chose not to believe it. It's one thing to read it and understand it, it's another thing to accept what it says.

We have empathy for the person struggling with that sin..or any sin for that matter. But we do not condone it nor support it. And we certainly don't say that it is harmless, because it isn't..

The bible says homosexuality is bad, yes.
I don't believe in it, so I also don't believe what it says about homosexuality. I know it well, I just don't believe it.

I simply said to watch out because sometimes it's a painful issue for some poor guy who hates himself because he's attracted to guys and according to the bible you can sin in your mind. I didn't point a finger, I just said be careful.

You used to be a devoted christian, right? So obviously at that time, you believed it was wrong. What changed your mind? You cannot deny God's word, nor make it say something other than what it says. Without getting too graphic, a man's wanker does NOT belong in another man's bottom. Just as a woman's tongue does not belong in the south side of another woman's body. You don't find those actions natural, do you? Because they aren't..

Maybe you could tell us why you don't believe homosexuality is bad.

Do you even know how many people have died because of being gay? Liberace, Freddie Mercury, Rick James, several other celebrities. Not to mention the tons of regular people who die from it every single day. Ryan White died of AIDS, and he wasn't even gay--he got it from tainted blood during a transfusion. So if you're packing and licking, you're at major risk of getting an STD. You (general you) don't know how many people your lover has been with before you, or who he/she may have as a side dish.. I cannot believe that you don't find any of this as harmless.
