I sincerely hope someone doesn't need religion to know it's wrong to murder someone.. and yes our constitution allows freedom for all religions.
I don't remember the exact wording of it but it says something along the lines of there will be no legislation passed to respect one certain religion or to infringe on the rights of any religion
That pesky old 1st amendment.... you know, the amendment that will be repealed immediately after the 2nd, if we let it.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

That's why churches don't pay taxes by the way
Churches don't pay taxes so the gubbermint has something to hold over their head...like not being able to talk politics from the pulpit....unless you're a progressive liberal outfit. Then you can say what you want without fear of losing the tax exempt status.

Technically, it says that the government cannot ESTABLISH a national religion... it says nothing about any separation between church and state.... I think that was Jefferson that said that, in a letter to one of his friend...
Ohhhh, and the truth shall set you free Dude. The sentiment of separation of church and state was conceived to keep the guvment out of the church's commission. Like now, if a pastor preaches Romans 1, the guvment is sharpening their hate speech teeth to pounce. But all trolls know this, they're just counting on their targets NOT knowing the truth.

That really hurt.

I'd make a pithy response, but...

right now I'm crying in my safe space.
don't cry.....every true spaghetti eater knows that you use both a fork AND a spoon to eat it...

No where in what I said did I say or imply that the only way we know murder is wrong is through religion.
That would be a twisting of what I said.

You have been making it sound like the government can't pass laws that Christians believe as immoral. Morality comes from God. That does not mean that you have to read the Bible or believe in God to know that murder is immoral. I sure hope people don't need the law to tell them murder is wrong. The point is that morality comes from God. However it sounds like you are saying that Christianity is a religion and that we can't make laws based on Christianity.

That's pretty much how I feel about it

Hey, I eat spaghetti with a spoon!
It might be the greatest tasting yet most difficult food to eat. I think the meatballs are there to give you a break in the frustration.

well......anyone who tries to eat spaghetti with a spoon when a fork is readily and visibly available, is insane.
I get called insane all the time. Apparently it is true....I actually eat spaghetti with a spoon, because as a kid I never could get the fork to work right.

I have done it for so long that it is simple...

But it could also be one of the most romantic foods people can share.....Lady and the Tramp is a good reminder of that❤

but where you disconnect from reality is that your separation of church and state is a one way street.

I did think about that scene, very un-hygenic. Either kiss or eat, the two narry should meet.

Kodiak, your 22. c'mon.
Your point is? I am not a sauce fan...I can never eat much sauce without my tongue inflating in size...so I eat it in a different form where the spoon is a much easier way to eat...

Congress shall make no law respecting a religious establishment or infringing the free exercise thereof. This essentially means separation of church and state. Isn't the separation of church and state principle why churches don't pay taxes?
No, congress makes the tax laws and has legislated that chuches among other entities may not pay taxes, yet they all must make a filing.

Spoon is more efficient. You can shove more food to your mouth using it. I don't know why americans rarely use it. Kody are you sure you are american?

Yes, as me and my children dined on spaghetti tonight, now I have a floor to scrub, a sink full of dishes, a full load of laundry, and 62c in pasta that will never be eaten.
