So no mention of sin?!
God no, you mention sin, but the nature of what i is. and if you get specific you mention it relative to you. that leads to the lest offence to them, a connection to them, and idea that if God helped you overcome He can do the same. you just gotta get the point of sin leads to death, you don't gotta say this is sin and that the HG will as you speak to them.

there is no degree to sin, best evidence of that is there is no degree to dead... you can't be more dead than another because of your sins....

Most people aren't gay, which makes it easy to attack this particular sin, because this sin will never become their problem. People can keep on attacking this sin knowing that they will never commit this sin themselves. Some other sins, for example adultery, lying, dui, violence etc can easily be more dangerous to attack, because there is always this theoretical chance that the accuser can actually end up sinning him- or herself. Not so when it comes to homosexuality.

So, when some people needs to judge, they pick the gays, because that's a safe space.

Im actually sorta annoyed by this thread, this person came here to say things like "you only believe homosexuality is wrong because your book tells you so" and making claims that being against homosexuality is hateful and that she is better than those who follow God's word on the issue, and even still we have people who seem to believe that we should open the doors for her and welcome here, and that debating her claims is somehow "mean".

I often think people let the "love your neighbor" get to their head so much that they constantly have to prove how loving they are that theyll even let a person come here and disrespect the Word of God just to prove their righteousness. She had made it clear that she knew what the bible said and that she thought it was wrong. Jesus did not make friends and come to a middle ground with people who refused the Word of God. I have no plans on telling someone who insults the Word of God and those who follow it "I understand" and work to form a middle ground with them : p It serves nothing on an online forum whatsoever : p

Well you have your way of outreach but I do not think you can say that is the only way to reach a person. Each person is different.Im not about saying you're going to hell you sinner! But I do think you need to make it clear that sin leads to hell without beating someone over the head with it. You can speak the truth in love.

Most people wont have abortions. But most Christians are still actively against abortion.

There is a push to make abortion an civil rights issue, though. It is now being called a "womens right". Those who do not support abortion are accused of "controlling womens bodies".

Id imagine the push by current society to make it a normal and acceptable part of everyday life, along with the villianizing those who do not support it, would be the reason its such a common discussion in todays world.

yes but the truth is who Jesus is, not doctrinal teaching. if there blind to Him what makw us think they will wake up to anything else truth in the word?
Our only job is to speak the truth in love. God's word is the truth and he says that it won't return unto him void. It's not our job to withhold the truth to try to appease others and second guess God's word. We can only plant the seed...we cannot make it take hold and grow that's up to the person. So I think when asked about things like this it's best to quote the word of God and then let it go.

Oh pffft, it was in no way something different, it was a direct response to your post, comparing it with a similar issue : p
