Exactly. People use their positions to do evil and selfish things. God doesn't tell them to, nor does He "appoint them" to do such thing. Your last sentence where you said "God may have appointed some of them" in post 96 can come across as saying God anoints them to do such acts. Anointing and taking advantage of a situation are two different things.
Check out televangelists, sister. It's not hard to find a pastor using God's word as a way to live life luxuriously. Still don't know what a selfish desire is after that?

better be careful when it comes making assumptions about Christian organizations, God may have appointed some of them.
Do you not agree that God appointed some of these Christian organizations? If you do, there is no argument here.
when you become a 'Christian', it is never about what you have or what you want anymore,
it becomes about what you can give and share and how you can help others with their needs,
with the discerning Love of The Holy Spirit...basically, it's a Brand-New-Life with
Brand New Godly Priorities that we could never imagine or think possible while living our lives
in the 'old-man'-satan's-world'...
the training time table takes a life-time, but Jesus continually shows us how we are growing in Him,
a little here, a little there, there's just no mistaking that we are slowing becoming His New Creations in
His Love after He enters our hearts...
it becomes about what you can give and share and how you can help others with their needs,
with the discerning Love of The Holy Spirit...basically, it's a Brand-New-Life with
Brand New Godly Priorities that we could never imagine or think possible while living our lives

did God know that David would leer at a woman from his balcony....then impregnate her...then have her husband killed..then try to cover it up....then install him as king anyway? I'm pretty sure He did.
the point I am trying to make is that God knows the story from front to back. Why doesn't he choose people who He knows will make good decisions. Sometimes He does (Joesph) sometimes He doesn't (David, Judas). God is very confusing to the finite mind...if you ask me.

That's an honest post and one I appreciate brother. God's ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. The more I learn the more I realize I don't know and with much knowledge comes much suffering.
I am not confused. He is God. He can do anything He wants. Bless anyone He wants to bless. I'm just glad the Jews messed up, now we have a chance. God always puts our hearts to the test. Even David, the man after God's own heart failed.

Televangelists are a different story,only a very few of them seem genuine to me. Very few.Im talking about your local church and pastor.
Televangelists are still pastors and preach the word of God. Do they twist Scripture for their own personal gain? Absolutely. But they still fall in the same line. There are plenty of folks (for whatever reason) that get their church from televangelists or online services. Some folks even on here. Not everyone has the opportunity to physically go to a building for service.

Did God tell David to do such thing? Did God tell Adam and Eve to sin back in the day? God knew these things would happen. But did He tell them to do these things? That would be appointing people to do evil.
Going back to this, technically speaking that money being used at Cracked Barrel or whatever restaurant could easily be used to buy groceries. We can't live without food and water. Is there an issue if a family throws in a few dollars for a tithe, but then spends say 200 for groceries? You're not going to spend 200 dollars at a restaurant (hopefully). But that 200 dollars for groceries isn't all for stuff someone needs. Let's say lemonade for an example. No one NEEDS lemonade. Or snacks. No one NEEDS pretzels or chips or desserts. But some of these things are part of groceries. In your 44 years, I know you have used money at one point or another for such things out of want, not necessarily need. If you never have, then please correct me. Isn't that money being used on "extra" food considered wrong, when some of that could have gone to tithes? After all, there's a problem with folks going out to Cracker Barrel right after. I think there's inconsistency there.
of course He didn't tell him....but He knew that David would....and He installed him anyway.
So that means He doesn't appoint them to go do it, then. Just like He wouldn't appoint me in a position to go run in the middle of the street and see if I can avoid being hit by a car. Would He have known if I were to ever do such a thing? Yes. But instruct me to? I don't think so. There's the difference.
