That would matter IF you were God... but you are not, so what you consider to be sin and what is not sin is not relevant because the Lord is the One Who says what sin is.

Claiming it is a sickness is what the world does so they can coddle their sin, get attention for their sin, have others celebrate their sin with them, and even make money from their sin.

When ya get lung cancer... you'll be quitting then, one way or the other!

Smoking is not a sin. Our bodies are the temple of God but God us not talking about our physical bodies. God is talking about our spiritual well being. Every moral law that God says we are to abide by affect our spiritual well being. The Holy Spirit cannot live in a place of sin so He is talking about our spirit not our physical body. If God was meaning our physical body then how about what we eat with all the stuff that are bad for our bodies? We would not be able to eat over half the foods we do because of the chemicals added. We are adding to Gods moral laws in the exact same way the Pharisses of old did.

I smoke, you dont...are you more "Godly" than me? Be very careful how you answer that question.

Are you more worried about your physical or your spiritual? Be very careful how you answer this also.

Yes that is true.... but it's your narrow-minded, puritanical definition of "sin" that is causing the problem.

Do you drink coffee? Eat GMO foods? Do you drive a car?

All of these things are very harmful to your body.... you simply conveniently IGNORE what the scripture says.... EVERY OTHER SIN that man commits has nothing to do with your body, but sexual immorality is the sin that harms your body. Read the scripture, and quit trying to make it say what YOU want it to say.

Actually Cocaine isn't sinful either, if it was then we would all be crack heads heading for
hell.

Opiums are very common in all sorts of drugs they just don't call them cocaine or
heroine. Other words are used like codeine, diamorphine etc.

Its not the substance that's the problems, it's the way it's used and the way it
changes people and causes them to do atrocious things.

Many plants and herbs have medicinal properties but mankind have chosen
to use them unwisely.

You are the one who is coming off as proud. How about you lift yourself up some more as better than everyone else. Now you do realize that YOU are as much a sinner as everyone else and that only by the grace of God can you be saved. If it wasnt for God speaking to us we wouldnt even be worried about sin. But since you apparently dont smoke you are better than those of us that do. Mighty proud of you.

Gorillas inside? Lions outside in the trees? That's not dementia. That's hospital-induced delirium. Those folks were stuck in their rooms without family for too long. They were prisoners in that nursing home in a far worse state than dementia. Why would she let them continue to live in such terrifying delusions? Give them something familiar from their homes -- a favorite comforter, picture, artwork. Something that reminded them of home, since home in the last grounding on this earth someone with dementia has. Call their family and ask them to call or visit more often. People they know they may forget who they are, but deep inside they are familiar. Spend half an hour a day taking that peron outside their room. Let them see they aren't stuck with the same sterile four walls like a prisoner.

Of course there was something she could of done. But to let them believe they continue to live in that horror of a dream they think is real? That's horrible! Why wouldn't someone help them to get out of the thought their is a gorilla inside them or a furious cat stalking them?

My husband thought his room was swarming with mice and rats. Of course he would have been angry and confused to learn what he was seeing he wasn't seeing, but dang it! Better to get that jolt of not being able to trust your own senses than to continue watching and feeling the rodents descend on you. His nurse would have heard it from me, if she went along with that nightmare. And, if she didn't listen, she would have listened to the reprimand from the director.

That's not ethical. That's neglect!

These people had Alzheimer's Disease. They were very much in a delusional state all the time. It was impossible to "get out" of the horror of their delusions. People with Alzheimer's Disease can't get back into reality. The kindest thing she did was to talk to them and go along with their delusions. She had a patient that had imaginary children, and would talk about how pretty they were. The old lady would say, "Did you see my children?" And my mother would talk to her about these now grown people as if she had seen the lafy's children. If you have ever been around people in advanced stages of dementia or Alzheimer's disease, the very meanest thing is to argue and try to make them "see reason". Instead of provoking them, she comforted them. My great aunt had dementia. She was convinced people were breaking into her house and stealing things. Instead of arguing with her, we would find where she misplaced items, and commiserate with her about how bad those people were that kept breaking in. There was no amount of truth telling that would have convinced her otherwise. This is what I mean. Their realities are so altered, that telling a comforting truth "there is no lion outside" is actually mean because it is questioning their reality. These are not people who will be cured and come back to normal, but only degenerate as time advances.
