"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1
For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:3-4

Paul is saying because Christ died for us we obey the law so are not condemned by it,
because love is obedience to the law.

It is not because we have become lawless or law breakers, rather we are the greatest
conformists, because it is now written on our hearts through the cross of Christ working
in our very beings and soul.

The other thing about Romans 8:4 - is that the requirements of the law are fulfilled "in" us not "by" us because we are in Christ. He has fulfilled the righteous requirements of the law.

Romans 8:3-4 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP]
For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

[SUP]4 [/SUP]
so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Being "in the flesh" is a position or state of being. Christians are "in the Spirit" 24/7 because we are in Christ in our inner man - the new creation which has been created in righteousness and holiness.

Romans 8:9-10 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin
, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Until we understand this truth of the believer NOT being in the flesh - we will be making up weird doctrines like trying to "clean up the flesh". The flesh will be with us until we get rid of these bodies. You can never clean up the flesh.

It's is only
"by the Spirit" that we can not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. We can get things backwards and try to think that "If we don't "do the lusts" of the flesh - we will be living by the Spirit." This is religion - and is really just a substitute for the truth and life of Christ that is in us.

Now the natural humanistic mindset will try to say that "people are saying we do not do righteous deeds" which is complete foolishness. We do righteous deeds because of Christ's righteousness in us being manifested.

We have to have the horse before the cart -
the "horse" being Christ's righteousness - not our own self-attempts at righteousness.

It's His life being expressed outwardly in our behavior. He is the Vine - we are the branches.
Branches do not produce fruit by their own self-effort - they bear the fruit of the Vine. This fruit comes from the
"sap" of His life in and through us.

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
Roman 8:13

When we live by the Spirit, we behave righteously, not doing the misdeeds of the body.
This means we do good, righteous things, as slaves to righteousness.

We have become the people of God, walking in His ways.

Seems like G7 has failed to do this and continually fails and is condemned by his
conscience. Not surprisingly he cannot stop preaching we are failures and not victors.

To not put too fine a point on it, G7 is saying I am foolish, being a humanist.

Now here is the joke. You will behave righteously if you believe G7's way,
but not if you walk by the Spirit.

I suggest you start putting love into action, walk after the Spirit and see
where you get to. If love springs forward in your hearts, hallelujah, if not,
go back to the Lord and ask Him to shed light on your dilemma, and share
with others, His body can always help.

My impression. I think G7 believes if you do not believe in the right way, it will not
work.

Ever rode a bicycle? Learning the theory is fine, but mainly you have to give it a go.
People can help when you make mistakes, but you have to feel what it is like and respond
appropriately. Only each rider can do this alone.

Walking in the Spirit is no different. It is your heart, your honesty. your conscience,
your love that speaks, and the word and the Holy Spirit that guides. It will all come
alive, and then you will know. I can just provide words and encouragement, you have
got to go out and do it, God bless you all.

And the nonsense continues ... with no one dealing with ...
the many dozens of God's dire warnings in our precious NT.

Congratulations, guys ... you have earned and deserve an A+
in the advanced class entitled "Condemnation Avoidance Techniques"

There is therefore no more condemnation for those IN CHRIST..

Whats interesting, is in your trying to avoid condemnation. You will (if you do not repent) be condemned yourself.

Amen, we are in Christ and Christ is in us, so that all we do we are doing in Christ,
it is not ourselves, it is Christ working through us. Amen.

The vine and the branches.

So abiding in Christ love, walking in His love, doing things because of His love,
is God in us, not ourselves or self works or anything about our old selves.

What glory, we are Gods workmanship, the redeemed of the Lord, Holy, pure
and true, Halleluyah, what a revelation.

We have a problem here. The requirements of the commands in the NT need to be fulfilled by us to continue "abiding" in the vine. There are requirements that the law of Christ (NT commandments) be fulfilled BY us. Jesus said "If you love me, keep MY commandments. What do you say about that? The "believe in Jesus only" stuff is a sham. Yes, By grace thru faith we are saved. Works don't save us..... but our works enable us to KEEP what God has given us thru Christ!
FOLKS DON'T KNOW WHAT "THROUGH FAITH" EVEN MEANS! THROUGHOUT THE REST OF OUR LIVES, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH. If we don't continue to "abide" by faith, we can lose everything!

Romans 8:9-10 (NASB)

You also are saying the believer no longer walks in the flesh if we are born again. This is false teaching.

Gal 5:16
16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you,(the church) just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

Paul also states we have to subdue the flesh to keep it under control. He that doesn't do this will be cast away by God.

24Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.(KJV 'castaway')

We are "in Christ" because of God's doing - not from what we do. We believe in Christ's work for us and thus enter into by faith what grace has already provided for us in Christ.

This is the D.I.Y works-based mindset that nullifies the grace of God in our lives when we think we "remain in Christ" by our performance. We can trust the life of Christ in us as we preach and teach Christ Himself.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (NASB)
[SUP]30 [/SUP]But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

Now for "fruit bearing" = we do need to depend totally on the life of Christ in us for this fruit bearing to manifest.

We do not bear fruit "in order" to remain in Christ. That is why religion gets this saved by grace through faith alone all backwards.
We bear fruit because we are "in Christ". It is His fruit bearing in us.

Doing righteous deeds by themselves does not make one righteous. This is having the cart before the horse.

I know there have been "good" people doing "righteous deeds " but they were not belonging to God. Many religions have moral living people in them - all doing "righteous deeds".

Here is how righteousness is manifested in a believer....we need to be righteousness conscious...not sin-conscious...we have a new creation in Christ now!

This "righteousness " will manifest outwardly in doing righteous deeds - but we need the "horse" in front first.

The "horse" being Christ's righteousness in us because of our being in Christ in our inner man..our new creation in Christ.

Awake to who you are in Christ!..Awake to righteousness and sin not..when you see who you are in Him in your new man...you will then manifest outwardly who you already are now in Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

[SUP]18 [/SUP] But we all, with unveiled face
,beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Hebrews 5:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13[/SUP] For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

Romans 5:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 54:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] "In righteousness you will be established; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; And from terror, for it will not come near you.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21[/SUP] He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

When you see who you are in Christ because of His finished work...you become outwardly in behavior what you are truly like in your new inner man where Christ dwells and His life gets manifested in love towards others in this hurt and dying world

there is a problem with this. We still would fall short of Gods standard. God did not lower his standard and so ok NT people. You can do these sins, and it is ok, The law is no longer in effect..

You still sin and fall short of Gods standard, So apart from grace, you would still be condemned, no matter how well you THINK you follow the NT commands.

if anything, God made it HARDER that the law..

( the law is self-effort and it is all works based - you do in order to receive - which is why the Law is not of faith andthe New Covenant is based on grace through faith in Christ's work alone )

Perhaps I should have put the quote in red so that it could be seen better? It is by grace through faith in Christ's work and not in our own-self-effort of which the Law was based on.

Works-based mindsets operate on the same level as the Law did. You have "to do things" in order to receive.

New Covenant is believing in Christ and His life transforms us to do good deeds as we rely on His life in and through us to a hurt and dying world that needs to see His love and grace towards them.

There is a better life available for us in Christ but it is all based on faith in what grace has already provided for us in Christ Himself!

We have an awesome salvation in Christ our Lord and a loving Father that can be trusted.
