Re: Trump's bizarre claim that "millions of illegal votes" cost him the popular vote
Every Election that takes place has "some" cases of Voter Fraud...........that really isn't the issue. The issue is: Is there evidence of Voter Fraud to the extent that it could/would CHANGE the results of the Election. Be it in Electoral Votes, or Popular Votes. To date, neither side has shown anything to support their assertions, other than the usual Politispeech that infects every Election.
Trump won the Election based on Electoral Vote totals...........even though it is looking like he lost the Popular Vote by some 2.3 million votes. And, as some have suggested, ONLY WHEN the Electoral College casts their votes will the Victory be secured for him. I don't see any surprises there, even if one or two, or a few change their vote, Trump will still garner enough to become the next President.
Now, what this loss of Popular Vote does do is remove any thought that Trump received a "Mandate" from the American people based on his Campaign promises. Mandates require a substantial victory in the Popular Vote totals to be real. Even that doesn't matter, for they will claim they have a Mandate, and the other side will claim they don't, but he will still be President.
The real question is: What will happen once he takes Office?
