Which (vertical) level of hell are you aspiring to?
Well, you and your buddies keep working your way to Heaven and eternal life if you must.
I, like Abraham believe. If it was sufficient for Abraham, it is sufficient for me.

John 3:16 says that whosoever believes has Eternal life.Isn't that a one time thing?
According to scripture it is..... so don't blow it.

Heb 10:26For if we go on sinning willfully(continuously, rebelliously) after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES. 28Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know Him who said, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.” 31It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

BTW, V30 is quoted from the OT, absolutely implying that this is still true & in effect. God will do it. Fear the Lord.

Mt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Romans 8:31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

How can we conceive of God bringing vengeance upon those who have trusted Christ for salvation?

There is a vast difference between receiving the "knowledge" of the truth - which is Jesus' sacrifice and blood has forgiven you of all sins. - and receiving "Christ Himself who is the Truth."

Hebrews 10 is talking about Jewish people after hearing about Christ for the only sacrifice for sins and rejecting it to go back to the temple sacrifices for their sins.
Hebrews was written a few years before the temple system came crashing down in 70AD when it was trampled by the Roman army.

It is in "security" that we can have true "maturity" just like in any relationship. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is with us forever Jesus said.

John 14:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;

[SUP]17 [/SUP]that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

Ephesians 1:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

The Spirit of truth is with us
forever!

2 John 1:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] for the sake of
the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will be with us and in us forever. John 14:16-17.
Our Lord is NOT a liar.

John says we are safe in the Lord as He keeps us. Isn't that exciting to know that?

He who began a good work in you will finish it just like He said He would. We can trust the Lord with our lives.

Philippians 1:6 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

There is nothing new under the sun. Israel & Judah believed that God would not judge His chosen people, that He would always save them no matter what..... but He didn't. From the beginning of deliverance at Sinai, millions would die in the wilderness for unbelief & rebelliousness. There was no fear of God in their eyes.

So it is today..... Unbelief, rebelling from God's truth, believing anything but the truth of His Word. Rebelling thru twisting the holy word to say what THEY want it to say, & ignoring the ones they can't twist.

Vengeance is His, & they will go into great tribulation for their sins. They have not repented..... they are not convicted..... their hearts are seared with a hot iron. Only the hearers that "considers their ways" & repent will be forgiven & restored.

Read the BOOK..... it's all there. Those servants that KNEW the truth & refused will receive a stricter judgement than those who were decieved from the start & didn't know.

It is time to believe all that God has done for us in Christ. He loves us dearly and we can trust Him. We have to let go of our own works in order to experience His life in us manifesting - and it is all by grace through faith alone.

As we have received Christ our Lord - so we walk in Him. Col. 2:6

We were saved by grace through faith in Him and what He has already done for us because of His great love and mercy towards us alone - nothing that we did. Eph. 2:8-10

Hebrews 4:9-11 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

[SUP]11 [/SUP] Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

Don't you believe that we are to exercise our free will to co-operate with the Holy Spirit?
If not, then IMO, you believe we are robots with no free will.
Instead of grossly simplifying and distorting what (you think) I believe, how about dealing with the Scripture I quoted.

Paul put it quite simply: EITHER we grow in the grace of God the same way we began (by faith) OR we never began. Of course there is a measure of cooperation; and as I wrote before, I believe that said cooperation is itself a gift of God's grace, not a product of our own effort.

I believe John 3:16.

I believe those who have been born of the Spirit of GOD did not blow their salvation by not doing works.GOD Is looking at JESUS and those born again of Incorruptable seed are In the body of CHRIST spiritually and sealed.
I do believe their works will get rewards but their salvation Is secure.

If a person Is practicing sin, they were not reborn of the Spirit of GOD.Grace doesn't teach a person to practice sin.Falling Into sin Is not the same as practicing sin.

I understand that GOD Is not the author of confusion, and since the scriptures are Inspired by GOD,would you agree that John 3:16 doesnt talk about enduring?
Why don't you complain to God that He hasn't put ALL of the conditions in every verse?
Aren't our Bibles long enough for you?
Our English word "believe" does NOT contain ALL of the elements.
There is NO such word.

Ergo, we have paraphrase translations, which are free to use as many words as they please.
They do this by including related concepts found in other NT verses.
Instead of one ridiculous word ... they produce a phrase, clause, or sentence to explain the meaning.
IMO, these are what you need.

lol ... Try reading Genesis, and then see that ...
Abram was totally and completely OBEDIENT to everything God told him to do.

Foist, he could hear God's voice (can you, and do you?).
Secundo, he obeyed (you can, but do you?)

How can we conceive of God bringing vengeance upon those who have trusted Christ for salvation?
And here, dear folks, we have the idiocy coming forth again!

Since when do we have to be able to conceive of a Truth that God declares to be a Truth?

The Triune Godhead comes to mind.

Vengeance is His, & they will go into great tribulation for their sins.
Talking about absolutely everyone!

Revelation 21:
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
idolaters, and
all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death.”

Overcomers (involved) vs. (habitual) sinners

Believers who fall into the second category will be going into The Lake.

How do we overcome? John gives us the answer:

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 Jn 4:4)

Overcoming is not about jumping through hoops and satisfying the expectations of men. It’s about depending on The Overcomer who lives in you.

“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 Jn 5:4-5)

Are you born of God? Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God? If yes, then the Overcomer lives in you and you can’t help but be an overcomer.

That’s why Jesus told the disciples to be encouraged during times of tribulation; because he – not they – had overcome the world and because they would carry his overcoming Spirit within them.

We are called to fight the good fight of faith! Believe in what Christ has done and His life will be manifested in every circumstance of our life while on this earth.

How do we overcome? Jesus gives us the answer ...

Revelation 3:
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

This includes mucho more than believing Jesus is the Son of God.

We need to overcome the world, Satan, sin, the antichrist, etc.

Either we put to death sin in our lives or sin will put to death us. Let's not let sin reign in our mortal bodies, don't let it rule; let Jesus rule over sin and death and conquer it completely in our lives. Some think God can't do it, others think God won't do it, Paul said Jesus paid the price, and that we are expected to enforce that purchase.

Paul said in Romans 6... we are no longer slaves to sin. Are we part of the 'we' Paul identifies? Or are we an outsider? We can be part of that 'we'. We need to put our armour on, and set our minds on things above. Lay aside the filth of this world, the movies, t.v shows, lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eyes, the pride of life... and lay hold of Christ. Walk in the Spirit and we WILL NOT fulfil the lusts of the flesh.

It's a battle but its one we can win. Don't worry about tomorrow, it will worry about itself. Today, lets reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive to Christ! Let's be wise as serpents, not naive, not unaware of the enemies schemes... but innocent as doves. Pure but discerning. Fierce as lions yet humble. Bold in Christ, Jesus apprentices, ambassadors.... disciples.

The meaning of righteousness … “And they (Zach and Liz) were both righteous before God,
walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” (Luke 1:6)
No one is perfect, so IMO this would include sincere repenting of the occasional sin!
Your opinion is wrong. Where in all of Scripture is occasional sin acceptable, or permissible?

.“For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” (Gal 5:5)
“Hope” here is Strong’s #1680, “favorable and confident expectation”,
i.e. the expectation of the truly faithful … Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words:
“the hope of righteousness; i.e. the believer’s complete conformity to God’s will”

It is at Judgement Day that will determine who is and who is not righteous, not that anyone has attained that now. i may walk righteous today and turn my back on God tomorrow. So then just because someone is righteous today does not mean they will be considered righteous on Judgment Day, this why we hope we are Righteous come the day of Judgment.

.• “… whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him” (Acts 10:35)
• “… you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether (slaves) of sin leading to death,
or (slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness” (Romans 6:16)

Those who are Righteous, do that which is Righteous, Those who are are unrighteous are those that do that which is unrighteous. Simple, even children can understand that. Do good you are good, do bad you are bad. Good tree only produces good fruits, bad trees produce bad fruit, even though 95% of the fruits are good, it is the bad fruits that make it a bad tree. Those who do righteousness are righteous, those who do unrighteousness are evil, no matter how much righteousness they do.

.“If you love Me, keep My commandments … He who has My commandments and
keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father,
and I will love him … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will
love him … He who does not love Me does not keep My words” (John 14:15-24)
Thus the question must arise …
Does anyone go to heaven who does not love Jesus and obey His commandments?
Answer: NO. What are His commandments?

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should
1) believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, AND 2) love one another, as he gave us commandment.

Simple, those who believe on Jesus AND Love One Another are and will be accepted by Him. Those who do not, will not be accepted by Him, no matter what they claim with their mouths.

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments” (1 John 2:3)
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You,
the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
And I give them eternal life”
(John 10:27-28)

And who's voice do you follow when you are tempted to commit sin? So then if you claim to follow Jesus yet you willingly and knowingly obey and follow satan when you desire to commit sin, do you still think you are following Jesus? Your master is to whom you obey, who you obey is who you are following.

• “… so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness” (Romans 6:19)
• “... holiness, without which no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14)

• “But you, O man of God, flee these things (sins) and pursue righteousness” (1 Tim 6:11)

• “All Scriptureis profitable for … instruction in (practicing) righteousness” (2 Tim 3:16)

• “… we, having died to sins, might live for (the practicing of) righteousness” (1 Peter 2:24)

• “… you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” (1 John 2:29)

• “… let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous” (1 John 3:7)

• “In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does NOT practice righteousness is NOT of God” (1 John 3:10)

Notice above that “the children of God” practice righteousness!
And “the children of the devil” do NOT practice righteousness!
In the church … would these be the tares, the foolish virgins, those with bad fruit, etc. etc.?
Those who do righteousness are Righteous. Those who knowingly and willingly obey satan and commit sin, are not Righteous, and it does not matter what excuse they try to use to justify their own actions, does not matter what False doctrines they hold on to, that allows them to continue to live in sin and still think they are Heaven bound. There will be millions upon millions of people weeping and gnashing their teeth on that Day, all because they thought they were Righteous based on the doctrines they held dear too. Very sad indeed.

• “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers;
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)
Notice those who do evil (sin) are contrasted with those who are righteous.
• “… those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who
have done evil (practiced sin), to the resurrection of condemnation.” (John 5:29)

• “For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness,
than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: ‘A dog returns to his own vomit’,
and, ‘a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.’ ” (2 Peter 2:21-22)

True believers who are faithful will be obedient and practice righteousness,
and therefore will be seen by God as continuing to be righteous!
Those who habitually practice sin will NOT be allowed into the kingdom of God/heaven
(1 Corinthians 6:9, Galatians 5:21, Ephesians 5:5)
You are not far from the Kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit’s “ministry of righteousness” transforms believers into living in holiness!
• “... holiness, without which no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14)
The Scriptures above clearly show that this requires the co-operation of believers!

• “… how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious (than the OT ministry of death)?
For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much
more in glory … But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:8-9,18)

• “… beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1)

• “Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God.
I speak this to your shame.” (1 Corinthians 15:34)
lol. Telling a generation who loves to sin, and refuses to cease from them, all the while making excuses for their sinning, will absolutely refuse to hear sound doctrine on this matter. All of Scriptures teaches AGAINST sinning. But leave it to the generation to try to find loop holes, so they can continue to live in sin and still go to Heaven.
Here is an absolute TRUTH. all sin is EVIL. Those who choose to sin, choose to commit EVIL. These have altogether FAILED to seek Strength and Power from their Savior Jesus Christ, who is more than willing to help them overcome all their temptations, but this generation would rather continue to sin, then to do something as difficult as to try to cease from it. Narrow and difficult is the way that leads to life everlasting. This generation blindly believes the way is easy, just believe in Jesus and that's it, doesn't matter what you do, as long as you believe. These will be weeping when He Returns, because they will be left behind, because they over and over and over again CHOOSE to obey the enemy the devil, and deny the voice of Jesus Christ telling them to cease from obeying the enemy, to get rid of the sin that so easily besets them. Weeping and gnashing of teeth is in store for all those who continue to live in sin, you have been warned, you will have no excuse saying to Jesus "I didn't know" Lo, i have told you the Truth, and it is from God.
