So I got notice today that due to other people's family schedules, I have a ready made excuse so that I don't have to ride 12ish hours in a car to go see extended family for Christmas. Is it terrible that I'm happy about not have to do a lot of travel in a short amount of time?
Hmmm.... depends. i'd like to think you are glad that you don't have to make the long journey and that if they lived nearer it would be okay? A 12 hour car ride is a long ride.

Then what do you call a dog in summer?
Call him whatever you want, my dog will come. You could call him Rumpelstiltskin, he'd come up with tail a-wagging, expecting you to pet him.

You can call him a hot dog too. If I take him down to the creek he'll go wading in it, but I bought a watering trough to fill up with water for him to lie in when it's hot and he avoids it like the plague. Dumb dog.

Yeah that's pretty much it. Too far to go to see people for a short time who I just saw at thanksgiving. I'll go home to my parent's for Christmas that's only about 30 min away (in good weather with non icy roads and no accidents and all).

We once wanted to find out whether our cat came because we called his name or just because we called
+ how short- term his memory was.

My mum let him out, waited for him to walk about 50 meters and called CHEEEEESE!
.... and he came running back acting as if he'd been away for days

:p

If some yelled cheese! I'd come running too. Especially Brie with fruit.

My cat eats cheese...and milk and ice cream...just a little. He really likes dairy.
