1 Corinthians 3:11-15------------------Gold & Silver?-----------------wood, hay, stubble??

Gold, Silver and precious stones----->The works of righteousness done by faithful believers dia Christ dwelling in them by the word
Wood, Hay and Stubble------>The works of the flesh done by believers who are not faithful

The BEMA seat will determine your reward....those who are worldly believers will have their fleshly works burnt, YET WILL BE SAVED so as by fire......

And this is so applicable.....just like the disciples or apostles of Christ....some were more faithful than the others.....the same rings true in the Lord's churches today....from very faithful to those who are saved, but not very faithful.......some will rule...many will serve!

Our works will be "tested" when we stand before the Lord...

Works burning up? Use gold and silver--- be rich in Christ...

My understanding is that the text speaks of God judging the works we perform upon the foundation laid. Some demonstrate good works and others demonstrate bad works. The 'fire' is to test those works so as to be used figuratively i.e a testing or trial of, but unfortunately advocates of purgatory would use the word 'fire' as a literal meaning. The thing on fire isnt the believer but rather the believers works.

If your nickname is "Smoky"----- change it to " Goldie"...

1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Co 3:13 each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is.
1Co 3:14 If any man's work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire.

Makes good sense. Now for all to put forth the Gospel only and thei work will abide, ame?
