There are protesters asking the EC to vacate the people's votes in the states if you can believe it. And to elect instead Hillary Clinton. If that happened I imagine it would make history in itself. And the level of trust in our electoral process would be shattered to bits.

God be with our president elect and vice president elect and their families. And God bless America to withstand her enemies both foreign and domestic. Amen.

What a world.

I'm curious... if Trump had won the popular vote but lost the EC, would you still feel the same way?

Never before in our history have "faithless electors" changed the outcome of an election and unless there is a huge rebellion (not likely) among them it won't happen this time either.

Its quite unbelievable. People are sending death threats over this.I wouldn't be surprised to see some electors quit after this election.

Nope! He said as much in October. Nothing to be curious about.

When this vote is over, I wonder just WHAT ELSE the Dims can come up with? It is absolutely pitiful to watch all that has been going on, and I would be embarrassed to call myself a Democrat.

I don't like Trump (nor Clinton), but faithless electors are lying no good people and they should vote for whomever they are obliged to vote for. Unfortunately it is Trump this time.

Well,
I think we can be certain the Democrat leadership will come up with SOMETHING.

Politically they pretty much HAVE TO;
there has been too great a shift in power, their losses have been huge, and their losses will CONTINUE to expand almost exponentially after Trump comes into office... it's all just far too much for the Democrats to let it go.

The average democrats will just get swept up in whatever agendas and narratives the leadership puts forward.

This won't end.

If there is something I admire in my Democratic counterparts, it's their tenacity.

We have had a faithless elector make a principled stand...against Hillary. For Bernie. In Maine.

I love this.
I believe the news said that democrats were protesting here too because of it.
They had been screaming for someone to be a faithless elector in Maine because of the different method we use. They really weren't expecting it to be from their side. lol

Suggesting an alternative political strategy is always opening pandora's box.

One Progressive weakness is their tendency to plot the future according to their notion of a living history. Outside the Providence of God, history doesn't work like that.

Ideas are clean. People are messy.

Well California has been whinin about seceding. If that had happened Trump would have won the Pop. Vote by over 2 MILLION, and his electoral win would have been TRUMP- 307 CLINTON- 177.

Throw NY in there and the margins are even more gigantic. The rest of the country does not want the decadent, depraved Coasts to drag them into their cesspool!

Without the Electoral College three counties in Ca, three cities on the East coast, and DC will always elect our president. The writers of our constitution were pretty smart.
