Heads up. Be careful at giving yourself the overall thought "I'm bad at math." I hated Algebra. If I don't know what X, Y, or Z is, why should I care what random number it produces? And geometry? Again, the only course I ever worked hard at and came up with a C. In general terms, "I'm bad at math."Im a typical case of '' bad at math and good in everything else''
Tho french (its just so hard unlike any other language ive studied) and text processing/editing is harder than the rest for me besides math.. my best grade so far in math in this semester was the 3- in my first exam..the second was a 4-
But desperation made me take a job as a bookkeeper when the bookkeeper was willing to train me for five weeks before he retired. (Desperation -- couldn't find anything but minimum wage jobs in years, and even took months to find the minimum-wage jobs. lol) I got that and I got it quickly! (And, he was a yeller. Every time I got it wrong, he'd yell, "No no no no no!" I got him to stop by starting my question with, "I know. 'No no no no no," but what did I do wrong here?"
)Why? Because X, Y, and Z suddenly became $$$$$! I'm bad at math. I'm great with money. (Even if it's not my money to spend. lol)
Something tells me you may be bad at abstract math. When it becomes something important to you, it starts making sense. Even the dimensions of a circle became important to be when it came time to picking out a rug. (Still cannot judge if a flower pot will fit a spot in our yard or how much soil is needed to fill it, but I tend to end up with too much soil, so... okay.)

A thought for you -- there are doctors out there that were at the bottom of their class too. If they can pull it off, how much easier is it for you to make it through just this year of school?

Don't do maths all holiday. Get it done ASAP (and, true, Christmas is in there, so take that day off as the real holiday), and when you get it done, THEN you get time off.
In bookkeeping and chemistry I am awesome.. but when it comes to formulas and stuff.. im pretty much lost. but I went from a F student to a C/C- in US standards so hey I wont complain lol

"An hour" a day isn't "all holiday." I was picturing you stuck in your bedroom for 4-6 hours per day.
Good! Tutor! If he/she is any good, you'll be surprised how much easier math gets when you go back. (Not easy. Easier.)

If this is correct than I got (this was a long time age by the way we did less subjects then
I think schools try to cram in many more now).
Aged 16
Geography 3
History 4 (loved history!)
Art 2 (art teacher was very eccentric!)
Biology 3
Maths 4 (loved the maths teacher!)
English 3
Physics 1 (hated the physics teacher everyone did! I just scrapped by with a pass)
So would that be 2.8?
Then I stayed on in 6th form (age 16-18) and did a Business and technical education
course which had 4 parts to it 4 different units in one course:
business Maths,
business English,
Finance,
then a practical mode which taught typing, computer skills,
short hand (although I can't remember any of that now it was like Chinese), banking,
etc.
You had to pass every part of the 4 modes. If you failed any subject you failed the entire course.
I passed with distinction which would have been the equivalent to getting four A scores.
So I suppose that would be 4?
PE wasn't even a graded subject but you could do PE if you wanted as a soft leisure
option. I hated PE at school shared showers and changing rooms. No thank you.
I did my own PE I use to do trampolining at a local sports centre and also cycled
100s of miles in my teens with my brother. It was far better than anything school had to
offer.

Hi Fran it may seem like one massive drag and spoilt fun now.
But one day you will look back on it and be thankful for that education.
I know you might not see it that way, we seldom did as teens either, but
a good education affects your entire life. It gives you the tools to support
yourself financially as an adult and be independent.
Although the good thing is that it is never too late to do extra courses at
college or university later as an adult if you don't do so well in some subjects.
One of the things I wished I had done, is look into what I really wanted to do and
make sure I took the relevant exams and really went for it, or gone to University.
Unfortunatley there wasn't the money around or the encouragement when I was a teen
and I was a bit of a shrinking violet with no confidence.
Honest you will never find an adult who regrets doing their best at school (that's all you
can do by the way), but there are many who wish they had tried harder.
But one day you will look back on it and be thankful for that education.
