Please be nice, don't call names or argue. I hope we have some from these three beliefs on here to put in their views and opinions.

First I would like to bring up that it is belief in Jesus Christ that saves us. I find often a hatred for these groups in "Christianity" We are to love even our enemies. I was wondering if we are saved by grace through faith, why is there so much animosity toward these groups?

Because they teach false doctrine and therefore prevent others from Christ and all which that brings.

So is it faith in Jesus + correct doctrine that saves us?

Accepting Christ saves us, Truth sets us free.
JW- believeing that Christ is sitting in a tower etc not even to talk about their own changed up bible they have with dozens of changed information
with that denying that Christ died and Rose again and sits at the right hand of God righteously.

Mormons: Have completely differing Deietys believing that their Pair is making babies 24/7 and that people have to have lots of children to give bodies to the souls that are created through the intercourse of their deities...And believing to some day to become Gods and living on a different planet AND believing to be protected from evil forces by wearing ''holy undergarmets'', multiple woman
So here you have Idolatry, Superstition and Polygamy.. which I am sure cannot lead to Christ

Catholic Church: Well there are thousands of different varieties of the Catholic Church but come of the main false doctrines are below:

I can somewhat understand where your coming from Evan. It does make one wonder if doctrine is the deciding factor if one is saved or not even if their hearts are for God. I mean I have talked with both Catholics and Mormons some of them of course were the normal stereo type you hear Christians talk about all the time but some seemed to be of a different sort.

Some may see me as defending these types of believers but I am not I am simply giving a different perspective to think about. True enough a lot of the traditions of theirs vastly oppose ours and God's but I wonder if we are all talk when we so often say that God looks to the heart? what if while following traditions that were molded into them some of these so called heretics actually have a deep and personal love with God? would this be enough to say they are saved or does the doctrine they teach and follow discount them?

I have met a few Catholics even who have shown me more fruits of the spirit than a lot of Christians I have met and these fruits are not the kind that can be faked for fake fruits cannot move and stir a persons heart towards God. But again I could be wrong and be speaking out of ignorance, I don't know how to judge a person as saved from the doctrine they follow I only know by their hearts.

How shall you believe in Jesus if you do not know who He is? Doctrine identifies Jesus as the Christ of God. Scripture identifies Jesus as the God-man. Fully God and fully man.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Believing in a Jesus that is not the Jesus of the bible is not believing in Jesus unto salvation.

For the cause of Christ

Also Evanwood, I hope you read typo.

Although it's a modern language, it's still baffling.

what do you figure faith in a false Christ is worth?

when you're trying to stop a car, just the act of pushing down a pedal isn't sufficient. it has to be the brake pedal.

It's faith in Jesus that saves us.

JW and Mormons deny He is God - therefore they call Him a liar. RC's worship false god's (Mary and "the saint's) and bow to man-made symbols. Do you think God looks kindly on wilful disobedience?

Only a RC would make such a statement.

Well evan, did it ever occur to you to look up what each of these groups teach, especially the jw's and mormons? Remember Jesus Christ asked His disciples "Who do people say that I am?" Matthew 16:14-19. Obviously the typical answer from just about everybody is that Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah/Christ. BUT, what does that mean?

The Apostle Paul explained at Galatians 1:6-9 there are differnet gospels out there and at 2 Corinthinas 11:4-6 there are different/other Jesus's out there as well. So you have to ask yourself a question? What Jesus does the jw's have and what Jesus does the mormons have? As far as the RCC they have the right Jesus but it's their other teachings that are the issue. And lastly, a real Christian DOES NOT HATE and if he does have hate in his heart it is sin. Lastly, don't be fooled by how nice the jw's or the mormons are morally or otherwise. Stay focused on what they teach regarding Jesus Christ and the gospel.

If so, who's lampstand would be thoroughly snuffed out by now.

Evan,

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.
Galatians 1:8

You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.
2 Corinthians 11:4

As you can see, there can be different gospels and different Jesus'

I'm not going to touch this question with a ten foot pole, and I'm going to be a little secretive in my next questions to protect your privacy, but you can feel free to be less cloudy than I'm about to be, if you want to.

Were you on here in 2015 asking for a prayer request and emotional support, and then something truly miraculous happened? Something about a trip to another country, (after a trip to watch a baseball game), with someone you love dearly? The trip itself had you tied in knots, but the miraculous happened a month or two afterward. So, I'm asking you are you THAT Evan?

If you are, I'm THAT AtWhatCost (and I'm always Lynn.) I left this site too, and came back.

If you're not, oops. Sorry 'bout that.
