But doesnt the bible say in Romans 3:11 that none seek God? nor do they understand God? Notice Jesus says "though you are evil" in Matthew 7. We do have the ability to give good gifts to seek and to find your right.....BUT....when it comes to things that must be revealed or must be spiritually discerned we do not have the ability to understand these things nor want them either in and of ourselves because we are spiritually incapable and unable to. God must liberate/regenerate our wills so that it now
can understand and
can actually desire and want God and therefore seek him etc. Before this happens we
cannot do this, it is only by Gods grace alone.
Of course we make choices day to day but you cannot make a choice that goes against your very nature. Our natures are one of evil and wickedness therefore, though you can choose to do good like it says in Matthew 7 right, it cannot change the fact that your still evil no matter how much good you do.
To put it simply you cannot choose to change your nature because that very choice in itself is coming out of a nature that is wicked and sinful. Your choices come from your nature and your nature is sinful and wicked therefore your choice will always be tainted by sin. This is why Calvinists would strongly claim that the emphasis should not be on mans choice because our choices are sinful for they come out of a sinful nature but rather on Gods choice. So lets talk about the freedom of Gods will rather than mans will.
