Are there differing types of spiritual deaths?
There is no such thing as a spiritual death because death only relates to the physical body. Our Spirits are eternal, either they will exist as part of us in eternity or exist on their own in the Lake of Fire for eternity.

I'm confused about this topic...

Jesus said even gentiles are able to love those who love them back, but what reward is there in that?

People can do good things, but that doesn't make them good.

The only one who is good is God. And Jesus is God in the flesh. And through His goodness we have access to God when we die and are reborn in Him.
So exactly what are you confused about?

So when God said to Adam that in the day you eat of it you shall surely DIE, what exactly died in that very day??? Ephesians 2:1 "When you were dead in your sins and transgressions, he made you alive in Christ" so again what type of death is this talking about?

When the bible talks about the Spirit quickening us to life it presupposes that we dont have life. If we dont have life then what do we have instead? Its not that hard to recognize that the bible speaks of us (humanity) in terms of spiritual understanding not physical. If you do not have spiritual life then you are spiritually dead and in need of life. This is so simple to understand.

Jesus said; “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:7-12

Clearly we have the ability, as sinners, to do these things.
The point about what Paul was addressing in Philippians 4 were the good things he said to practice not the fact that the people were believers or not.

But doesnt the bible say in Romans 3:11 that none seek God? nor do they understand God? Notice Jesus says "though you are evil" in Matthew 7. We do have the ability to give good gifts to seek and to find your right.....BUT....when it comes to things that must be revealed or must be spiritually discerned we do not have the ability to understand these things nor want them either in and of ourselves because we are spiritually incapable and unable to. God must liberate/regenerate our wills so that it now can understand and can actually desire and want God and therefore seek him etc. Before this happens we cannot do this, it is only by Gods grace alone.

Of course we make choices day to day but you cannot make a choice that goes against your very nature. Our natures are one of evil and wickedness therefore, though you can choose to do good like it says in Matthew 7 right, it cannot change the fact that your still evil no matter how much good you do. To put it simply you cannot choose to change your nature because that very choice in itself is coming out of a nature that is wicked and sinful. Your choices come from your nature and your nature is sinful and wicked therefore your choice will always be tainted by sin. This is why Calvinists would strongly claim that the emphasis should not be on mans choice because our choices are sinful for they come out of a sinful nature but rather on Gods choice. So lets talk about the freedom of Gods will rather than mans will. :)

All TD means is that we are mortal.

Dead or totally dead - it is a meaningless distinction. When you are dead you are dead.
True, but this doeskin lead to ambiguity. If it just were left 'depraved' whos to know if that means PARTIAL DEPRAVITY or TOTAL DEPRAVITY right?? Its important to make distinctions. Total means sin has affected our entire humanity. Mind, Heart, Soul, Desire, Wills and Total affirms that no human being is exempt from this. Which means totally affected by sin to the point of death. Therefore in desperate need of life.

So when God said to Adam that in the day you eat of it you shall surely DIE, what exactly died in that very day??? Ephesians 2:1 "When you were dead in your sins and transgressions, he made you alive in Christ" so again what type of death is this talking about?

This is always the problem when people use a 400 year old English version with current day understanding. The word 'day' is not in the Hebrew or in the Greek LXX, it was inserted by the KJV translators. The NLT renders it more accurately for our modern vernacular as "except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
If you're familiar with this whole account in Genesis you'll remember that God banned them from the Garden of Eden after they ate from the Tree of knowledge which meant they could no longer eat from the Tree of Life which is why they died. Gen 3:22-24
They died because they lost access to the tree of life which is why we die as well. Remember the Tree of Life will return in the New Jerusalem which is how we will live for eternity as perfect human beings.
The same can be said for Ephesians 2:1, although there, it is more of a metaphorical use but in essence not being in Jesus means one is effectually dead because they do not possess eternal life, but when one receives Jesus as Savior they qualify for and effectively possess eternal life, if not actually. 1 John 5:11,13.

So if they do not possess eternal life which is spiritual, then what? They are in limbo between spiritual life which they dont have and spiritual death which they do not have either???? you either have spiritual life or not, which in turn means your are spiritually dead. How is this not simple understanding?

Suffice it to say your not understanding the actual message of Romans 3:11 is not accurate nor are you understanding how it relates to the Old Testament and what the context of the Psalms that it refers to was. Psalm 14:1-3 & 55:1-3.

Eternal life is not spiritual it is physical. Our spirit never dies, which is why the Lake of Fire is the destination of the unsaved spirit. You attempting to use human rationale to explain a spiritual principle is not how one reads the Bible. Hermeneutical exegesis is about being able to use the Holy Spirit to provide a clear indication of what the scriptures are saying among other things. An overall knowledge of the rationale that runs through scripture from beginning to end is also important to have, and that only comes by studying the word of God.

So our spirit never died in the fall?

Ah, Dr. Flowers. The one who on another Christian site said knowing Jesus was a personal achievement. I suffice it to say I want nothing to do with his teachings.

Dr. James White tried to debate him on Romans 9 and Flowers went everywhere in the bible but that chapter.

Brandon Flowers oohhh that guy. Yeah he claimed that he use to be calvinist and when i hear him im like "bro, do you even know what calvinism is?"
James White though what a dude. The best debater in all of history. Although I rather Brandon Flowers over Dave Hunt anyday.

It was sad to behold that debate. Flowers was totally unarmed to fight Dr. White.

Where in scripture did you ever read that?

They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.[Ephesians 4:18]

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.[SUP] [/SUP]All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.[SUP] [/SUP]But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.[Ephesians 2:1-5]

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,[Colossians 2:13]

[SUP] [/SUP]Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;[John 11:25]

Yes. We were spiritually dead and needed to be resuscitated.

Look at the exegesis not the person if the exegesis is correct then you shouldn't have a problem accepting it but I wasn't responding to your query was I? Suffice it to say there are always armchair critics that are ready to throw in on a moment's notice I have no idea what the issue is. There's nothing new Under the Sun and I rather abhor having to write something that's already been written. If you have a problem with anything in particular in the link then let me know and I'll try to address it. I'm not supporting the person but I do support his exegesis.

None of the scriptures you quoted here related to 'spiritual' death, they related to strictly 'death' which is in the realm of the physical, not the spiritual. That you interpolate it to include the spiritual is your error, not the Bible's. Try reading the Bible without your pre-dispositional bias.
