I know not the tale
Of a Knight who calls himself the last
Just the stuff told over ale
Remnants of the past

There was another Knight
Who rode Rocinante
To fight for Dulcinea
The Beatrice to his Dante

He'd lift his odd lance
Throw down his gauntlet
With evil he would dance
And hurt for being dauntless

Tilt he would
At giants crushing grain
No matter where he landed
He would lay in pain

He returned to his home
A palace of delusion
To see his books were burned
Reckoned an illusion

There's no happy ending, really
The Knights life is agony
If not on Crusade
He'll be sent to sea

To reckon with the tides
The fates that cause disorder
Fortuna shall elude him
For he cares not to move a border

He'll never gather riches
That much can be told
Errand missions end in ditches
For gain he isn't bold

I don't know his story
or what the last knight's done
Has he fought fight's gory?
Has he ridden for the sun?

Where did this knight journey?
To the north or to the west?
With whom did this knight tourney?
The noble? The best?

What I can tell you
By the man of La Mancha
In the end a night won't rue
The day he strode to Menorca

To believe in something pure
To fight the evil of his time
To dream of love which endures
To not just be another mime

Muming in the dark
Looking for a kick
Searching for an empty spark
To light a little wick

Few want to be a Knight
Or have a Knight's desire
To show the world the right
And more good deeds inspire

So press on Holy Fool
Be our staunch reminder
To dream pure dreams
Disregard the cynic's blinder

CC is starting the hobby. I think I'll write more poetry in my spare time. Make my structures a bit more sophisticated.

Eek. Maybs my jeans and shirts get me mistaken for being manly.

Not gonna walk around naked (Good suggestion Tommy379, but having such a small frame it wouldnt work for me like it would for curvy girls)

So, Care Bear costume from the Fun thread it is!

GL7 they will have to be blind as a bat to mistake you for a man :p

TheLastNight: I have to disagree with almost everything you said in that first post.

- I know a lot of girls who still look and act like girls.
- Who said men want a woman who will raise a family? I don't want kids.
- Women are not just there for men to take care of, they are there to take care of men too. It's a two way street.
- What's wrong with a woman driving a large truck?
- Where are you meeting all these western women who are so crude? Sure I know a few like you describe, but (thank the Lord) they are NOT the majority.

Also it is possible what you see is true where you are and not where I am. I live in Tennessee. I hear some places are... not as good as Tennessee. In fact I hear a lot of places are not as good as Tennessee in a lot of ways. =^.^=

I see there is much criticism and not much valuable talk so far, maybe blogging is a mistake! I find it difficult to seek what others think without the eyes of judgment befalling me. Thanks anyways people.
Perhaps if you didn't generalize so much?.... Just a bit of advice from a married woman.

Also it is possible to watch a video that generalizes, like the video the OP cited, and think about A FEW people you know, and think "hey yeah, that's right, women are like that!"

It's the same reason women get so much agreement when they make a blanket statement like "Men are jerks." The people who hear that think of a few men they know who are jerks and they agree with the statement, not even thinking about all the men they know who are not jerks.

Well I know that I am continually annoyed by the apparent emasculation of many men. With their funny hair cuts and skinny jeans, don't know how to check the oil in their car and think guns are the root of all evil. -_-

As to men, I don't know what yanks expect, since I haven't had much experience with them, but some people would be surprised what the "dream girl" of a redneck would be.

Haha yeah, I think alot of people dont totally understand the purpose of a forum. You post your thoughts, and other people respond with their own thoughts. Some will agree with you, and others wont. Someone disagreeing with you doesnt mean they hate you or that theyre your enemy, you cant share your thoughts without letting someone share theirs, too : p

I know plenty of men that aren't jerks. Lynx, for one :D Generalizations on either side is never good for a relationship.

Tennessee is a cut above almost everywhere else in the US. A lot of your positive observations most definitely have something to do with that.

Ohhhhh gosh I want to go back.

Thank you. And thank SovereignGrace for making it possible. Thank GodisLove7 for asking.

Thank Miguel de Cervantes for providing that conception of tragic knighthood which lends itself to poetry.

LastKnight, I'm not saying that you are wrong with your assessment. Culture has definitely rewritten the roles of men and women, here in the west. I would also agree that it is not for the better. Eventually it will come full circle, it always does. You and I will be gone by then. Nature will revert back to what is natural, but it has to go through the painful process. There is too much momentum to stop this wave of change. I guess there are a few choices to choose from. You can try and stop the wave. Good luck! You can get out of the water and go to another beach, like Asia. Or, you can ride the wave, beat the odds and come out on top looking and feeling awesome. It's our ability to adapt in this life that will declare us champs or chumps in the end.

Today I saw a video of a woman that was explaining why she thought that men in the US were seeking women from Asia. She explained that she believed that women in the west were becoming like men and that Asian women still have that feminine attribute to them. I believe that is not far from the truth. In the US women have adopted large trucks, taken on jobs that only men used to do, they use vulgar language and even chew spit tobacco (even Copenhagen), they drink beers, fart, burp, cut their hair short, wear jeans and show off. US women have sought to fill the man's position in the house as leader and be in charge of the finances and sneak off to go party at the bar late at night while leaving daddy home with the kids (no married person has any business in a bar or club). Women have sought to "flop the table" on men. This may strike some men as fancied but it is far from my ideal.
Men want a womanly woman, one that wears a dress and wears it well, long hair, smells pretty. The last thing a guy wants in a wife is her to be one of the guys. No man wants to marry their Bro! Men need a woman to take care of, that is what we desire and it's buried deep within. If we have a woman that we cannot take care of then we are not fulfilling our purpose as a husband. We need women to rely on us to protect them and if we are not allowed to do that then there is an empty void in the marriage. Men want a woman that desires to have a family (kids and a husband). A man does not want a woman that runs off in the middle of the night and goes off and flirts with other guys. Men don't want to be jealous over their wives, that takes away from the bond of the marriage and is cheating. Men do not want a woman that dresses her body to be adored by every other man but rather a woman who is all their own and they can love endlessly. Men want a family and kids and the woman that oversees the love in them.
Men need to be that leader and need to feel that they are protecting and caring for their wife. Men want to adore their wife in every way and know that she has the paste to hold the love together and the desire to let the man be the man. Not only is it of God's creation for the man to lead the wife but it is also mandatory for the man to feel that he has that purpose. I feel that women have this knowledge built in but some how the US has set a different standard for women. We have sabotaged our own mothers and daughters and wife's. Now if only can explain to me what God means when he says the woman's desire shall be to her husband???
What scriptures tell us that driving large trucks, using vulgar language, chewing tobacco, drinking beer, farting, burping, wearing jeans, showing off and handling finances is manly? Just wondering. Enquiring minds want to know.
