A Spirit led life will abstain from sin.
The law is dead to a Christian for they are not breaking the law led by the Spirit.
If led by the Spirit you are not under the law, because you are not breaking the law, therefore the law cannot touch you for prosecution.
A Spirit led life will abstain from sin, therefore the law cannot touch them for prosecution, for if you are led of the Spirit then you are doing wrong, but if doing sin,led by the flesh, and having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof, which some are lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
Not to be harsh but a Spirit led life will abstain from sin,so you are dead to sin,and not under the law,for sin will not have dominion over you,for it cannot being led of the Spirit.
Rom 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

A Spirit led life is dead to sin,and does not engage in sins, for to engage in sins would put people being led of the flesh until they get rid of those sins.
But Jesus did say He will never leave us or forsake us,so if we have received the Spirit, but sin not abandoning Christianity, and Jesus as Lord and Savior,Jesus is still there and it can be forgiven us.
