i think that is one thing I donot understand with younger people. It seems to they lost the respect for elders and they want to you to respect them. To me respect like trust has to earn but i agree with it seems younger Christians have more respect then older ones.
This is so true. It absolutely breaks my heart. It reminds me of King Rehoboam in the Bible, when he forsook the counsel of the old men and looked to his contemporaries. We're there; I think we would do well to remember that it didn't serve Rehoboam very well.

God has created the entire world, and humans are the only created beings able to uniquely pass down inter-generational information. That is a great gift, and one that I feel we are sorely neglecting. The older generations don't teach, and the younger generation doesn't try to draw them out; or the younger generation doesn't listen, so the older generation refuses to teach. It turns into a vicious cycle.

Respect to all people is crucial, but especially to those young people out there: RESPECT YOUR ELDERS IN THE LORD! For some tips, read the epistles to Timothy :)

One time. ONE TIME, and I was just in a bad mood that day............but, will YOU EVER FORGET IT? NO WAY!

(sigh)

Funny, I see the same thing in older people.
Respect is earned. If the "older" ones act like defiant toddlers, why should the younger ones respect them?
(Customer support experience: the older the more cranky, aggressive and rude)

Jesus commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves. He didn't say to love people who had earned our love.
I agree, BUT, have you noticed that some people try so hard to make themselves unlovable.
I mean they really work at it.

[19] Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
[20] No, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head."
