Hi KJV: Yes, but if we cannot clearly define the false doctrine then we have a problem. I have debated JWs many times and have always enjoyed it, if you really know the scriptures you can turn them on their head and be polite at the same time. I am still trying to understand the terrible crime against the Christian faith that ISIT has committed. He seems to be saying that as a Christian we need to forsake sin and walk close to God...is that wrong?
I think you came into the thread just as I did and with the same genuine openness and lack of guile.
So when we saw some very good news for us being preached about a great verse thatis in itself almost too good to be true that it excites us, and then saw people come in and say things like...do you WANT to cause trouble? we were perplexed at how this could be the reaction to the gospel in a Christian area. We were so stunned over it that we failed to note the mistakes being made on both sides. You only start to notice them fully after you struggle through the awful behavior and posts.
Those who came in were following him in from another thread somewhere. So they failed to note that he was preaching good news and instead began attacking him. We weren't in the other thread so we didn't know the man was being chased from place to place.
Secondly, by the flesh of his own that he allows to get stirred up by their display of flesh, at that exact point, it doesn't matter that he's preaching the gospel, because he is only preaching it in word, but not in behavior, so he is preaching it without the necessary power. So he is being led to do damage and he is falling into it. This has been our own problem at many times before we learned to walk more consistently in love.
So both sides are become clanging gongs. But to someone who comes in without an agenda but only to seek their Lord, yes, it is shocking to us to see the gospel being preached and then see it attacked immediately.
