Jesus had John the Baptist baptize Him in order to fulfill all righteousness.

At first glance, it seems that Jesus’ baptism has no purpose at all. John’s baptism was the baptism of repentance (Matthew 3:11), but Jesus was sinless and had no need of repentance. Even John was taken aback at Jesus’ coming to him. John recognized his own sin and was aware that he, a sinful man in need of repentance himself, was unfit to baptize the spotless Lamb of God: “I need to be baptized by You and You are coming to me?” (Matthew 3:14). I hear ya, I like to look at terms, then see how they are used, or what defines them
Baptize. To immerse or place into. To place into a solution to change state (think tie die t-shirt) In the greek, a baptizer was a person who dyed clothing) The children of Israel were baptized into (placed into union) with moses
Filled - to My cup is filled to overflowing. Jesus said, if you would have asked, I would have given you living water which overflows to eternal life (speaking of the HS) (john 4)

Baptism was represented by the priest getting washed in water. (the Jordan river moses was told to take arron and his sons and wash them)

I have thought that Johns baptism in water was to show that these people had repented and turned to God (plowed up the hard ground of their hearts).
You know, there was a preacher from a long time ago (forget who) who was kicked out by his congregation for wanting to be sure they knew, before he baptized them, what they should know. He took it seriously and wanted to talk with them before he performed a water baptism. But John did the same thing! He wouldn't baptize men who he couldn't see had repented.

I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

This is not baptism of Holy Spirit or fire, the fire of the lake of fire, but the fire of
God, His power and authority, His flame of holiness, His purity and His nature.
Fire is about purification, burning up the dross, refining, making new and whole.
If the object is just chaff nothing remains, it is gone. Chaff is the leaves, the husk,
the shell that holds the seed. Our mortal bodies are the frame for the mortal soul
that God will make immortal.
