List of dating mistakes that should be avoided by the Christian woman

(#5)Confidence that your humility and good heart alone will get you a true Christian

This is probably the "mistake" that occurs the most with Christian women. So as a Christian woman, you have a good heart, you are humble, you believe in doing good, you love your neighbor and you practise your faith. Therefore you believe that the world will automatically reward you for your goodness with a true Christian man coming your way. But you will be wrong because people like you are few in the world and because some things need fighting for and a good partner is one of those things. Most of the time the world will repay your good with bad. Getting a partner is like getting a job, if you want to get a job, will you just sit down and wait for the job to come to you? You have to fight for the job by leaving your house to apply and submit your resume. Similarly, you have to come out to fight, search for and find one of those very few true men. David prayed before going to the battlefield, he prayed but he still had to fight with swords for victory and similarly you also have to still fight for a true Christian husband.
Getting a true Christian husband is a war you have to fight and not an automatic reward for being humble and for being a good person.

And here I thought it was the men who were the warriors and were supposed to fight for us (or at least convince us we're worth fighting for). It's just I'm not very good at the whole damsel in distress role ( I'm doing well to go from "No, I can do it" to "Well I wouldn't refuse the help" when I have a flat tire and guys want to help me get the spare on).

Honestly though, I think I'll be just fine if I don't get a man who is the kind of Christian that pete is.

Gotta disagree with you again pete. People who approach this matter as a fight to win are the ones who are so desperately afraid of being alone that they will go seeking a spouse.

The problem is you keep trying to fix something that is not broken. Being single is not a problem that needs a solution. It's a state of being that actually works pretty well for a lot of people.

But if you really have to find a mate, I guess the advice in this thread's OP is good. Only for people who fear being alone though.

Seek and you shall find. But it is not always a mistake not to seek because sometimes serendipity works better. If you plan to do this, something else happens, life happens. Serendipity is stated as coincidence in the bible. Yet there is no such thing as chance to God, only to us. In Isaiah 46:9–11, God states unequivocally that He is in charge of everything: “I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.

There are really no rules because even the mistakes women or men make in dating are all part of God's plan. Scripture is clear that God allows sinful humans to make mistakes and reap the consequences of those mistakes, but only a sovereign God could also promise that He will make “all things work together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). In ways known only to God, He takes even our mistakes and unplanned events and weaves them together to fulfill His purposes.

This isn't about them melita. We're talking about the mistakes girls make. Guys are supposed to sit back and wait for the girls to find them. That way guys don't have to risk making mistakes. ;)

Be patient now, I will address the men the later. Having said that I strongly believe that it is the mistake of the woman that is keeping true single Christian men and women from finding each other. Most Christian men are tough and are willing to search for their woman vigorously but their job is made difficult by the reclusive woman. I blame the woman for making it difficult for true Christian men to find them just like I blame Eve for eating the forbidden fruit.

The acting was really good but the story was so tragic. It was good but depressing. I didn't cry, I probably should've but I have a heart of stone.

I'm wondering if this is how you approach women: "Hi. I totally blame women for sin, making men single, global warming, not having my dinner on the table at exactly 5:37 PM, and pretty much anything and everything else that's wrong with the world. So... When are you gonna go out with me? (And by the way, it's your fault that I can't find a Christian women. After all, you're making all the mistakes. Allow me to correct you.)"

Wow, it's totally shocking that this isn't working for you!

(I think what's more shocking is that you can't seem to understand why it's not working.)
