I've met one person who was an acknowledged stigmatic. Had all 5 wounds and they were pronounced. I was in my early 20s then and was still ignoring God, so I didn't have much of an opinion about it one way or the other. Even if I did, I wouldn't have had the discernment to know what was going on with exhibiting those wounds.

If it does exist supernaturally, it's not from God. Satan can mimic signs as well.

Apparently his blood is not enough for some people so they brand their body, but hey at least people will know they are saved
For what purpose? Jesus' scars were from real spikes driven into his hands and feet. The scar on his side was made from a real spear.

An early neurologist Désiré-Magloire Bourneville published works which stated that saints claiming to produce miracles or stigmata, and those claiming to be possessed were actually suffering from epilepsy or hysteria.[SUP][31][/SUP][SUP][32][/SUP] Some modern research has indicated stigmata are of hysterical origin or linked to dissociative identity disorder.[SUP][33][/SUP][SUP][34][/SUP][SUP][35][/SUP][SUP][36][/SUP]
There is a link between dietary constriction by self-starvation, dissociative mental states and self-mutilation, in the context of a religious belief.[SUP][37][/SUP] Anorexia nervosa cases often display self-mutilation similar to stigmata as part of a ritualistic, obsessive–compulsive disorder. Cases of stigmatism fall into two categories: self-inflicted wounds, which may be either cases of fraud or of unconscious self-infliction, and those that are caused by emotional states... Self-induced (through autosuggestion) itching and subsequent scratching of which the individual is unaware is likely to occur in suggestible persons if the stimulus is a mental or actual picture of the Crucifixion used during meditation and if the main motive is to receive the stigmata. The motive behind that may be unconscious conflict and a desire to escape from an intolerable situation into invalidism where one's needs are taken care of. It then becomes a case of hysterical conversion reaction. Many cases of stigmatism can be explained as fraud or unconsciously self-inflicted wounds.[SUP][41][/SUP]
In his Stigmata: A Medieval Phenomenon in a Modern Age, Ted Harrison suggests that there is no single mechanism whereby the marks of stigmata were produced. Harrison found no evidence from a study of contemporary cases that the marks were supernatural in origin. He concluded, however, that marks of natural origin need not be hoaxes. Some stigmatics marked themselves in attempt to suffer with Christ as a form of piety. Others marked themselves accidentally and their marks were noted as stigmata by witnesses. Often marks of human origin produced profound and genuine religious responses.[SUP][4][/SUP]
Harrison also noted that the male-to-female ratio of stigmatics, which for many centuries had been of the order of 7 to 1, had changed over the last 100 years to a ratio of 5:4. Appearance of stigmata frequently coincided with times when issues of authority loomed large in the Church. What was significant about stigmatics was not that they were predominantly men, but that they were non-ordained. Having stigmata gave them direct access to the body of Christ without requiring the permission of the Church through the Eucharist. that showed a certain 'group' of people, here in the US, who are mainly under-ground/obviously, they
were militant, and there were literally thousands of them and they all were showing-off/exposing their 'BRANDS'

we were both amazed at the time, but never again will we be so un-aware or try to shut the obvious out...
there truly is 'nothing-new' under the sun'...

Really, because it actually happened in real life.A girl from my country is carrying the wounds of Jesus Christ from her head to her feet.Her father is a pastor but not a Catholic different,a congregational church of Samoa;and most of my people thinks its demonic but i don't think it Is, i did a little research online and found out she is not the only one that these happened to also there are others
If it was inflicted on her then shame on the people who did it but for such markings to appear supernaturally isn't biblical and would not have a point. I don't think it's demonic i just think people go to far and somehow think having such marks has special meaning which it doesn't. There is no scripture that speaks of this happening and thus I cannot accept it
Well everyone thinks its not from God but i think it is from God as just a reminder to the world that his son Jesus Christ didn't died on the cross so we could leave in sins again,and that he does wants us to repent and accept Jesus Christ as our saviour ,right now the devil is all around us
Not only does she have those mark but she is getting messages in Hebrew that she doesn't understand,right now she and her family are in Rome to translates those messages.The wounds started on Easter last year while she was playing a part as Jesus Christ in a youth skit she started to bleed from her head and then her hands and feet
I would require scripture that shows this happening to even begin to believe it's from God. I am not like the Catholics I require scripture to believe in something otherwise it's a no go
