No it wasn't in the story, how did you come to the conclusion that the fork tongue represents two types of knowledge.. Is this of your idea, or of folk lore, or of a biblical statement... Which I'm not saying it's a bad idea not all I mean a fork in the road can represent good and evil...

You have two types of of knowledge in the story, the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil, now attach the word tree, can a tree speak to you and tell you what is good or evil ? No, trees don't talk, there it has nothing to do with a tree, now switch and add the word snake, can a snake speak to you ? No, it nothing to do with a snake, so what's left ? The knowledge of good and evil. In order to know such knowledge someone had to of the knowledge, so now question is, who this unto Eve in the story ? So we have two types of knowledge, we have who spoke it unto Eve, who spoke it unto Eve is the question at hand, not what was spoken but who spoke it ?

That's a good analogy, what I think of when thinking of the tree, is not much on the branches, roots,trunk, leaves, nettles, etc.. It's the friut on the tree, each piece of friut is either of good knowledge or of evil knowledge.. The tree was in season to produce friut was used as a temptation by Satan, if it wasn't then Eve or Adam wouldn't have been interested in eating the bark off the tree...

The fruit is the fruit of good or the fruit of evil, if you give life to the knowledge of good, that's the fruit, if you give life to the knowledge of evil, that's the fruit. No earthly tree, no earthy fruit and no snake. So now we have removed the tree and the fruit and the snake, what still remains ? The knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil and the one who spoke it to the woman and the woman herself.

I can not remove the knowledge, I can notremove the one spoke it to the woman and i can not remove the woman. The woman was called Eve, the knowledge is good and evil, so the question becomes, who spoke the knowledge unto the woman ?

There are several possible answers as to the type of knowledge the serpent promised Eve that she would receive if she ate the forbidden fruit.
1.She may have thought that she could actually become divine.
2.The temptation may have been that Eve could gain a certain type of wisdom, becoming Deity.
3. Eve assumed that once she ate the fruit she would have an independence from God that she did not previously have.
Whatever the case may be, Satan was casting doubt on God's Word and character by telling Eve that God did not have her best interest in mind. Unfortunately, she believed him rather than God.

Satan was casting doubt on God's Word and character. He denied that God had Eve's best interest in mind. According to the serpent, God was holding something back from Adam and Eve that eating from the tree would provide them. The irony is that Adam and Eve were already like God in the sense they were created in His image (Genesis 1:26).

The text tell us what his intent was and it tell us what the result was, once you understand his intent and the effect, then you will know the choice the woman made.
The withdrawing of blessing on Satan (spirit in physical form),
Caused him to live further away from the God of heaven.
I don't think anyone spoke the knowledge to the woman...the whole concept of evil and the knowledge of it came from taking and eating of the tree upon which their eyes were opened....they already knew the good and goodness of God, the knowledge came from the act itself.....and the realization that came with the act of disobedience.... I don't even think it was the fruit in and of itself either, but rather the act of rebellion...IMV

Genesis 2:5 For God does know that in the day you eat there of ( give it life ) then your eyes ( spiritual ) shall be opened and ye shall be as gods, knowing good from evil. Note: God does know the knowledge of good and evil but only gives life to good but not evil, if God gave life to good and evil, then God would have been divided against Himself. So what did the woman do ? She gave life to both the knowledge of good and evil, by doing so she became divided against God and divided against herself. As she believed she would not die, well she did not die on that day physical wise but fell to a spiritual death, meaning: her spirit was still a living spirit but was dead unto God, in other word, her spirit was the image of God's Spirit but fell and gave life to another image. The one who spoke unto her, his intent was to deceive her, that she might fall to spiritual death and by doing so, she made it all about herself and gave life to a self righteous mind set, as the man called Adam did likewise, as both were therefore equal in the fall from the image of God.
Some say it was Adam spoke it, Adam being called a serpent same as Jesus called the Pharisees a den of vipers. Is that what you are getting at?

It has nothing to do with an earthly tree or an earthly fruit ,it's the spiritual fruit but if you want to it wasló something earthly you have right to believe that. And rebelliousness also would be connected, why ? Because they were given a commandment and rebelled against the commandment and did what they wanted to do, gave to a self righteous mind set.

No Adam would not be the serpent, why ? Because the woman spoke it to Adam and Adam gave life to it as well, therefore Adam would not be the serpent, it could not have been Adam, so who was the serpent ? Well in Rev it speaks of that old serpent, who is the devil and Satan. As the serpent has many names, as he was called a serpent, a beast, a dragon, the devil, and Satan but his name was not Adam.

As the knowledge of good, the fruit of it is spiritual fruit, Galatians 5:22 the fruits are 9 fruits, love, joy, peace, faithfulness, goodness, kindness, longsuffering, meekness, temperance, these are the 9 fruits of the knowledge of good, so what are the 9 fruits of the knowledge of evil ? Just reverse the 9 fruits of good or ask yourself what would be the opposites of the 9 fruits of good ?
