Bag Ladies

Does anyone else remember this unhappy term, bag lady? This term became in vogue

way back in the mid 1970's, and it referred to people, in this case women, who were no longer capable of maintaining a residence or were simply evicted from their homes with nowher to go.

There were already what are now designated as "working poor." It had not yet been named, but it existed, along with people sleeping in allies, parks under bridges and more.

My point is, times have been bad for many folks since that time because this type of existence was not taken care of then, since then or now.

People do not ask bor this existence,; it is forced upon many for no other reason than teh lack of compassion we should all have for others.

I am not even hinting that no one here is or always has been concerned, but I am asking all to pay attention when certain authorities bring up the prosperitiy we enjoy today. I am referring to all western countries....

God bless all who care, and God bless all who are in these situations so desparate.

this is yet another heart-wrencher, that most times our prayers are all that we can do to help...
but, as Willie as shown us and told us, Jesus always makes some way for us to love and care
for others, if we have the Love and the heart to do so...

I've addressed this many times, both here and in the world. I've found that people will fight to the death to preserve their right to be treated like bag ladies.

About a decade ago, Philadelphia decided to get all the homeless people who wanted it off the streets. It worked to some extent. 90% of the homeless people were given places to live and the ability to get back into society.

BUT it didn't work for the other 10%. How do you not get all homeless people off the street if you're determined to get them off the street? Insane people. In the state of Pennsylvania everyone has the right to decide what they want for themselves, and they must be allowed their decision. BUT, if you're insane, and you're left to making your own decisions, it's going to be a disaster, because the insanity won't let you make right decisions.

So the only people who are homeless in Philadelphia now are the insane. How is that a bright idea?

I live in PA too, my city has a lot of mentally ill homeless people, it's very sad.
