The Vineyard Fellowship trains women in all phases of church leadership. The movement as a whole welcomes the participation of women in leadership in all areas of ministry.
We also recognize and understand that some Vineyard pastors have a different understanding of the Scriptures. Each local church retains the right to make its own decisions regarding ordination and appointment of senior pastors.
Thank you, I had never heard of Vineyard churches.

(Sorry to cut in...)

To the person who gave me rep points, thank you. I'd reply in person, but you didn't leave a name, so...

I read your comment telling me to change my avatar because you said it's not flattering at all.

My avatar is of me this past Halloween. I didn't even go to a party; I was talking to a friend online and we both painted our faces, chatted a bit on camera, and that was our big "celebration."

For now, I actually rather like it, as it's very much me... and yet, I'm kind of hiding in plain sight.

You know, just like we all do on sites like this... as well as in everyday life.

Thank you and God bless!

Wow! People are really zinging you lately with the reps! Whats wrong with people?

1950s Housewife

Things are Very different form how there were in the 1950s. But we can all learn a little for reading about being a Good Housewife in the 1950s. what was a good housewife in the 1950s?

"The Basics" The following is excerpted from an actual 1950's high school Home Economics textbook: "ADVANCE: How to be a Good Wife
HAVE DINNER READY: Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal--on time. This is a way to let him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned with his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home, and having a good meal ready is part of the warm welcome that is needed.

PREPARE YOURSELF: Take fifteen minutes to rest so that you will be refreshed when he arrives. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift. Greet him with a smile.
CLEAR AWAY THE CLUTTER: Make one last trip though the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up children's books and toys, papers, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you lift too.

PREPARE THE CHILDREN: If they are small, wash their hands and faces and comb their hair. They are his little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
MINIMIZE ALL NOISE: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise from the washer, dryer, or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.
SOME "DO NOT'S": Don't greet him with problems and complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as a minor problem compared to what he might have gone through that day.
MAKE HIM COMFORTABLE: Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest that he lie down in the bedroom. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.
LISTEN TO HIM: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.
MAKE THE EVENING HIS: Never complain if he doesn't take you to dinner or to other entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his need to unwind and relax.
THE GOAL: TO MAKE YOUR HOME A PLACE OF PEACE AND ORDER WHERE YOUR HUSBAND CAN RELAX IN BODY AND SPIRIT." Most wives in the 1950's had one job: to be a homemaker. This meant wives must not only clean the house but also truly make a home. Being a homemaker in the 1950's meant caring for both your family and your house, as well as presenting yourself as picture-perfect throughout the day. Not only that, you had to make it seem effortless.

Fixed it for you I think this might be what you are looking for....
Is it ok if I vote now?

I was talking to a coworker about this today and I brought up that I want to be the epitome of June Cleaver, but society frowns on it

Gosh darn you womens lib, I'm still gonna do it lol

Why don't people leave you be? That's an adorable picture of you; it coincides perfectly with the joy and wisdom you share here. I'm gonna get medieval on someone!

Just what this thread needs... a Weird Al Yankovich reference! (Amish Paradise)

Paul did not say that it was acceptable for women to have the same roles as men. As I told one Pastor some years back, why not just tell the truth?

Y'all do realize this guy is a complete fake right? Do not believe anything he posts...........it is all designed to inflame, disrupt, disturb, create contention among the Church.......he serves his master well
I disagree with that too. It just seems to me if someone were out to do that, he'd have enough knowledge to do it effectively. This just wasn't effective.

No one got inflamed nor disturbed. It didn't disrupt anything, and we're kind of having fun at this, so contention flew out the door even before it arrived. (And that's what I get for trying to force a metaphor. How can something go out, if it didn't come in? lol)

About the 1950s housewife. My stepdad worked the day shift and mom worked the second shift. She also kept the house in good order though me and sister would help clean up while she was sleeping.

Paul did not say that it was acceptable for women to have the same roles as men. As I told one Pastor some years back, why not just tell the truth?
I agree, Samuel, you should ask yourself that question: why can you not be honest and admit the fact that Paul acknowledged a woman, Phoebe, as a deacon? Commended her, even :)

Stop feeding the troll ,peeps.....it's obviously some under employed individual who gets off on us responding to his sick ideas...
Meh. Still thinking if he finds out we don't bite, he might reveal himself, (or herself), and we gain a friend.

Something about his sense of humor. I can't help it. I like hyperbole.

My Love is Like the Wind! Oh My Love!!!
Not what I believe, but every time you repeat the wind line, this song comes to my mind:

Quote "we have experienced all of these problems sense they were given the right to vote"

Them womens got the right to vote, thats when it allll went down the crapper

Quote "
Now, many women in our society support abortion"...

Maybe not as many as liberal media is trying to sell us,or Hillary would be in office now and not a dude.

Quote "
Divorce is just as rampant in the church. There is no difference between the church and the world."

Id grant you that but if you're leaving women alone to hold the bag on that you're living in a fantasy world. Takes two.

Quote "
The only way women have gained control is through force of sexual intimidation"

Id be seriously entertained to hear your explanation of this "sexual intimidation"

Quote "
and tempting man inorder to control him, which is witchcraft."

So man should have no self control at all. Just like an old hound dog, whatever gets him goin just go to town huh?

Thank you! Funny how certain words just remind me of people and give a strange concept of comfort. you just did that for me. "Crapper." One of my Dad's words that I haven't heard him use in years. Of all words to give me comfort, that's one of them.

Miri said another one earlier. One of the words my grandparents and their siblings used. A word Mom used to use when we were little. "Trousers."

Of course Paul called Phoebe a servant of the church, however in the context of Paul's statement that the position of servant in the church had to be the husband of one wife proves that he meant that Phoebe was someone who served, not in a position of authority over men.

I really don't know how anybody can blame Adam for the fall of mankind.

When a woman hands me any kind of food... I just eat it.
Clearly, you have never tried my Waikiki meatballs. (The dog wouldn't eat them. lol)

I believe that most of us have forgotten that there will be a final judgement for all of us. At that time, we will not be blacks or whites, rich or poor......neither male nor female. But we will have one thing in common: we will all be sinners wanting entrance into heaven. Whether we are male or female here on earth , does it really make any difference??
YES! I am woman! I like that. (Granted, postmenopausal now, so that helps.) And hubby would have never married me if I weren't. :p

(Not the one who repped you.)

I like that avatar. It can be taken two ways:
1. With the big smile but the scary makeup says, "I'm a really nice person, unless you tick me off."
2. You have a sense of humor.
