The Holy Spirit is not the giver of Life?
3290 Holy Spirit, the life-giver
Through the Holy Spirit, God gives birth to and supports both natural and spiritual life. For this reason, Scripture likens the Holy Spirit to life-giving water.
The creating Spirit (or breath) of God gives and sustains life
Ge 1:2 See also Ge 2:7; Job 26:13; Job 27:3; Job 32:8 fn; Job 33:4; Job 34:14 fn; Ps 33:6; Ps 104:30
You are talking about creation. And we have scripture that tells us where that credit & glory goes to.
John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.[SUP]2 [/SUP]The same was in the beginning with God.[SUP]3 [/SUP]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.[SUP]4 [/SUP]In him was life; and the life was the light of men.....[SUP]14 [/SUP]And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Who would the Holy Spirit give that credit to?
John 16:[SUP]14 [/SUP]
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.[SUP]15 [/SUP]All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Ezekiel 37:[SUP]5 [/SUP]Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:[SUP]6 [/SUP]And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
That can still be seen as the Lord giving physical life to the bones in the vision by His breath into them; That credit still goes to the Lord; not the breath, but His breath. Was it the breath that lay the sinews upon you? No. It was the Lord as John 1st chapter testifies AND that is WHOM the Holy Spirit would give the credit & glory to also.
Begotten Son of the Fatheras the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father does give credit to the Father.
The Holy Spirit gives resurrection life to Jesus Christ
1Pe 3:18 See also Ro 1:4
Of His own volition or doing the will of the Father? Then where does the real credit go to?
Do I need to repost John 16:13-15 again? Or maybe another reference is needed to see Whose workmanship we are.
Ephesians 2:[SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [SUP]9 [/SUP]Not of works, lest any man should boast.[SUP]10[/SUP]
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Philippians 1:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:....[SUP]11 [/SUP]Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,[SUP]2[/SUP]
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Now.. WHO would the Holy Spirit give the credit & glory to as the Giver of eternal life as testified in scripture in John 5:39-40 & John 6:30-35 ?
Your scriptural reference cannot go against the scripture I have already shared. You site all those references but not post any in its entirety and I have. You have yet to explain away those scripture I have provided for you to read plainly.
Yes, the Holy Spirit plays a part, but so do we. We preach the gospel; does that credit go to us that we saved them? No. The words we speak are of the Spirit of Christ as the Holy Spirit hears the words from Christ and connvey them to us and so Jesus Christ gets the credit & glory for the words spoken by the Spirit.
John 16:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.[SUP]14 [/SUP]He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.[SUP]15 [/SUP]All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Does the Holy Spirit draw all men unto the Son or is that a work of Another?
John 6:[SUP]44 [/SUP]
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Matthew 11:[SUP]25 [/SUP]At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee
, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.[SUP]26 [/SUP]Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.[SUP]27 [/SUP]All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man
the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
So let us give credit where credit is due as testified plainly by scripture and not take verses of creation, of visions, of His conception out of context to try to prove that the Spirit is the Giver of eternal life when Jesus is.
John 5:[SUP]39 [/SUP]Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
John 6:[SUP]32 [/SUP]Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.[SUP]3
3 [/SUP]
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.[SUP]34 [/SUP]Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.[SUP]35 [/SUP]
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
The Nicene creed is not Biblical and we need not recite the creed when it is not fully of the truth in representing Him, His will for us in how to be a witness of the Son in seeking His glory, even in worship, as well as the preaching fully gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
