Someone PM'ed me with a health issue and asked me about a diet regime.

"Basically what kind of diet, or specific menu or recipes do you recommend..."

This person said it may be better if I post in general rather then PM back so others could benefit.
The person has had a some various pain and sleep issues.

Let me start with some of the sleep basics, which I have mentioned in other threads here.
If anyone is wagging up groggy or feeling depleted, then that means they did not get enough sleep and/or the quality of sleep, the REM sleep, was poor.

Sleep is lie a natural dialysis. Ideally your supposed to wake up feeling energized and alert. Everyone should ideally be getting to bed no later then 10:00/10:30, maybe even as early as between 9 and 10.

Ideally I would recommend eating no later then 6pm. That means you took your last bite at 6pm. We need at least 2 and a half to 3 hours of time between our last bite of food and falling asleep.

Epigenetics has now proven beyond a shadow of a doubt what very Christian should already know; that our though patterns and the way we view ourselves and the world and our level or forgiveness and focus on Jesus effect our spirituality and our genes. There is no two ways about it. If your constantly stressed or worried or hurried, even before you adjust your diet, which can be a major factor, you need to adjust your prayer life and relationship with Jesus.

Keep the room as dark as possible. Stay off your computer at least a hour to a hour and half before bed time. Use blue light blocking glasses when on your computer and preferably even after the sun goes down if yo are using led lights or even incandescent bulbs that are not clear, i.e., do not use bulbs that have a frosting over them.

Try to use your bed for nothing but sleeping, Well maybe one other thing too. This will get your mind into the set that the bed is for sleeping. When I place myself on this bed, it is for the express purpose of sleep.

The body has a very precise internal clock which jives to circadian rhythms. Mess with it, and your compromising your immune system and your health.

I recently helped a friend of mine in NYC with her breast cancer. She changed her diet around, did other things I suggested, was all in. A very motivated and intelligent lady, has 2 PHD's. She did not do the chemo, thank God. She did have the tumor cut out though, which is usually a good idea, if possible. She recently received a clean bill of health. The tests showed she is clean.
The problem is she does not get enough sleep, eats late at night. I am very concerned it is going to reoccur. I sent her some Miror EPF and proteolytic enzymes. Hopefully that will protect her well enough. I suggested she get a series of closed system colonics and do hyperbaric and/or Ozone therapy and infra red sauna therapy along with the essential oils. I hope she does it. Because the way she runs herself down increases her chances of it coming back.

Most people need from 7 to 8 and a half hours sleep. Studies have tried to pinpoint it. I think it is 7.42 hours of sleep. That is not a hard and fast number though.

Studies have shown that sleeping between the hours of 10pm and 2am is almost essential, as the body does its most crucial and critical repair work during those hours.

If you have consistently worked at night for more then a decade or so, you've already got and will have some serious health issues down the road. Sleeping the same hours during the day doesn't cut it. The results are not close to being the same, Remember what I said earlier about circadian rhythms.

If you are not consistently sleeping in the manner I described, your going to have a compromised immune function. You can not avoid it. We have to get our sleep, and properly, the way God designed.

We Christians should all know, there is not getting around Gods laws and design for us. It just leads to disaster when we go the opposite way.

Sin equals spiritual death, not abiding to Gods natural laws results in physical death. I am not suggesting we are going to live forever if we live the :perfect" lifestyle.
That cat is out of the bag, Once we were thrown out of the garden we were doomed to die. Furthermore, the flood was a cataclysmic event that change our environment forever in ways that further shortened our life spans.

Couple that with the ever continuing degradation of our DNA and genes and the bombardment we have subjected the environment, our real home the planet, to and we are sentenced to short life spans.

The good news is that with a close relationship with God, which to me is the most important element in the equation of long life, and a God sanctioned diet, and by obeying God;s other natural laws, we can live a life full of physical quiality and longevity.

I am not out of bounds that saying with all the new info and holistic products and modalities, attaining 120 to even 140, 150 years in good health is not a unreasonable unreachable goal anymore. Science supports this.
I am not implying it is easy, nor that I am going to live that long. I will be happy to make 85, 90. Just that it in solid theory it is an age that is reached.
More important to me then longevity is quality of life. What good is living to a hundred if the last 20 years your in a wheelchair on 20 different meds, can't breath right, in pain, can't walk more then 10 steps without losing your breath, etc.?

I will post the diet portion of how to live a healthy and productive life and other important life style habits later on.

It would be very hard for most people to endure the emotional hardships of this world for 140, 150 years, that's for sure.
You get cynical enough just when your in your 40's or 50's. A person in today's world at 130 years old would be the grumpiest human ever.

BTW, the documented oldest living person in the world, and the only remaining person alive that was born in the1800's is a Italian woman, Emma Morano, who is currently 117 years and 83 days old. She was born on Nov. 29th, 1899.

Also, the 10 oldest documented living people have all died in the last 25 years or sooner, with half of them or 4 of them (2 are still alive) having died in the last 11 years.

What does that say about the lengthening of life spans and the increased possibility of someone in the next 20 to 40 years living to reach 130 years old or older?

my deceased brother-in-laws Mother died at 107yrs. not that long ago... he died almost
20yrs. younger that her, recently...she was still very active from her wheel-chair and even played
'bingo' on the Gambling Boat that was docked just a few yards from her old-homestead...

Getting on to the diet portion of this.

It is actually very simple.

Limit your food intake and leave out all processed foods. That's it. Really, that's the bones of the of the key to a healthy diet and longevity. It's that simple.

I am a long time vegan, and eat about from between anywhere from 60% to 100% raw any given day. But you don't need to do that. And to be frank, if you keep your caloric intake low, and stay away from processed foods, your probably going to live close to the same age as a vegan and raw foodist, with near the same quality of health.

Because your body works holistically, when you eat a healthy diet, one that our creator endorsed, your body, in its infinite God created wisdom, is going to begin or continue the healing process of whatever ails you. It generally does not matter what the malady is, as long as the pathways to healing are not shut down, you are going to see anywhere from full recovery to (usually) something that is no more then a minor hindrance.
A disclaimer. There are certain medical conditions, neurological diseases being notable, that seem to resist in part, or sometimes wholly, biological healing. Bone on bone arthritis is another condition that ha no natural cure, to my knowledge.. And also some other more minor less known conditions. But for the most part, if your not to far gone, you will experience wonderous results.

Christians more then any other group of people in the world should grasp the concept that God has fabricated His most impressive creation in the universe; us.

Our bodies are actually sophisticated integrate machines that have miraculous and heroic healing capabilities. If we can just step aside and get out of it's way and allow them to do what God has designed them to do, we will see results that we thought were not possible. I promise you this.

God has placed right in front of us, hidden in plain sight, allegories about our spiritual and physical condition all melded together.

Everything points to God. If we follow his plan. But if we resist, we are in for a life time of misery and suffering apart and above and beyond the heartache and pain we are going to experience by virtue of just being born into a fallen world.

Christians are just as sick as the world, and it saddens me to see this. I came to this site for a few reasons. A major one was in the hope that Christians would open their eyes and activate awaken their minds and spirits as to how thye are short changing themselves spiritually and physically. Many Christians just do not know the information. If they come to discern it, then they will act on it.

Some Christians will know, or already do, still they take no action. God gave us free will. We all have our own paths. God is going to ask us all what we did with our time, talents and knowledge. Maybe for some Christians it is better they are not exposed to the potential of their spirit, mind and body. I do not know. That is between them and God.

One reason why we are not making the impact we should on society is because we are not presenting to this lost ans unsaved world how our faith makes us set apart and the what the benefits of our faith are. When we are just as sick, and dying at the same age, and have the same issues with porn, and divorce and materialism and all the other worldly attributes that they have; well how can we expect them to view us any differently then how they view themselves?

I know that if some of you will just change your physical lifestyles around, that as it becomes apparent to your friends, neighbors and co-workers that you are healed or have make great improvements from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, GI tract diseases, arthritis, acne, migraine headaches, etc., and as the physical appearance of your skin, hair, and body improve those in your social circles will take notice.
They will ask how you did it without medication. How did you make such a stunning and complete transformation. They will want to know how someone who could not climb a flight of stairs is running 5 miles. They will want to know how someone who was 50 pounds overweight has the figure of a model. They will inquire how can it be that when the doctors said ulcerative colitis and type 2 diabetes are chronic un-healable disease that you no longer have any symptom's nor take any meds for them.

If we live the way God intended, spiritually and physically, then the unsaved will be knocking down our doors for what we have. I have probably witnessed to as many people regarding my diet and lifestyle as I have just handing out tracts and praying and speaking to people on the streets. And when the spring and summer come, trust me, I am out there a lot.

I almost never fail to give God the glory and communicate to people that I am healed from ulcerative colitis because of God. That He showed me the way to good health and healing without surgery and medications. That he not only healed my body of UC, but also of life long allergies. A extra bonus was a heightened spiritual awareness and a changed outlook.

If anyone is interested in full and complete integrative healing then please read on. If anyone is interested in being a light to a dying world, fulfilling the great commission, read on. If you want a fuller more pregnant spiritual life, then keep reading this. If you have a friend or family member that needs a healing, this may be something that will improve their welfare.

Everything I stated in the paragraph above is reality. Only if you change your life style and follow Gods plan though. I have witnessed it. I have experienced it. I have seen it literally dozens of times.

The truth is something Jesus spoke of. If you know it, you can be set free. Everything in spirit and nature points to God. If you know where to and how to look and are sensitive to the spirit. Faith is required. Not in me, but in God.

So as usual, the essence is in the details.

I'll get to that in my next post...

I believe that the current maximum life span by biblical standards is 120 year old. I don't see that being exceeded until the second coming of Christ when He sets up His millennium reign.

I got into this lifestyle because it works. Meaning I changed my diet around and started reading the bible and praying because it works. I had positive results for myself and liked what I saw. There was no other motivation.

I was not a humanist. I did not have any aspirations to get into the study of the human body. Initially I did not want to share my experience. I did not care to much what happened to other people. That was there problem. I had my own. I just wanted to benefit from it and get on with my life. Which meant being very active physically; running, weight lifting, martial arts. Continue on with my scrap business. Rise my three kids, who I was raising as a sole parent since my wife had left me. And date, be about town.

I was not even a vegan in the beginning. I was still eating animal products, even with that I was enjoying amazing benefits by changing certain other elements of my diet.

Little did I know, God had a different plan for me though. As I experimented with my diet (with the help of my mentor) and with biological healing, I came to the conclusion that I needed to fast, first and foremost physical reasons. So I did a 21 day juice fast. I lost a lot of weight. I went from having a chiseled knockout muscular body to looking like a scarecrow.

Well that was like flipping a coin on it's opposite side. It irrevocably and permanently changed my life. My mind and spirit were transformed, and I thank God for that. And give Him all the glory.

I know I am going in another direction here. I am going to get to the diet aspect soon. I am giving a little personal back ground in the hope that someone reading this will come to the revelation that a higher physical plane is the opposite side of the coin regarding a higher spiritual conscious.

In those days I did not care how my body came to a healing. I would get into that in later years as my curiosity kicked in. I knew the surface info. The blood and guts of what to do, and that was enough for me. It worked. I'm good. Thank you God.

That is the beauty of the simplicity of Gods plan. It works and you don't need to dedicate your whole life to learning the functional aspect of it.

If you just give Gods's ordained lifestyle and diet a chance, it will work. It may not be easy. You may waver. Maybe you'll have family pressure from well meaning but clueless friends and family, but it will work.

So again, here it is.

Eliminate all processed foods and restrict your caloric intake.

Studies show that limited caloric intake reduces core body temperature, inflammation and slows the aging process.
Studies show that if you get all of the harmful chemicals out of your body, you will improve you immune system, your cells will be healthier, and your mind will be clearer.

We are all chronologically aging at the same rate. But we are also all biologically aging at different speeds.
Plainly said, some of you are just literally wearing your bodies down from abuse, misuse and neglect.

We can get into all the reasons why. Fancy words with complicated ideas behind them. Real science. Fermentative oxidative respiration, a theory championed by Otto Warlbeg. Or mTor response. Or blood gases by Dr, fred Bisci. Or Igf-1 markers. And protons and donor electrons, and neutrons and on and on.

Its not important unless your a geek about this stuff like me, or want to make a living at it and help people like I enjoy doing. Then in that case go to college or pick up a few books. You'll be amazed at Gods genius.

What is important is that Gods plan for us, if we are obedient to it, if we give it a try, without overthinking it, gets results.

If your going to eat meat, and you can, and still be very healthy, then limit it to twice a week. Eat meat, fish, or chicken that is organic. Exclusively. No hormones, no antibiotics, no steroids.

No GMO's in your diet.

Steam your cooked foods. No frying. Saute is a fancy word for fry. Absolutely no burnt foods.

Lots if organic (if possible) fruits and veggies.

Lots of salads with just veggies in them. No croutons, no chicken, no commercial dressings.
Nothing processed. That means most foods that come in a bag, can or box are not good for you.

Limit you sugar and salt. Use Himalayan salt only. No cane sugar. No coffee. No chocolate.
No cakes, cookies, diary made ice cream, etc.
No yogurt, no milk.

Flax oil, olive oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, avocado oil are all good.
Vegetable oil and corn oil are not.
Corn is not good, whatever the form it is in.

Beans and raw unsalted nuts are good sources of proteins.

Tapioca and maple syrup are good sweeteners to use.

Seeds and sprouts are excellent.

You must be consistent. You can not take poison in the morning and then eat good the remainder of the day and think you doing well.

It is no different with your body then with your soul and spirit. If you can pick up on one foundational truth about a healthy lifestyle it is that.
You can not beat someone up in the morning and then go about the rest of your day sinless thinking you had a good day with God.

If you can keep in mind your body reacts to a consistent diet the same way your souls and spirit responds to a Godly lifestyle, then you got it!

It is not so much what your doing, it is what your leaving out. Consistently eave out sin = eternal life.
Consistently eave out junk in your diet = a healthy body and longer life.

Your body is fine tuned to a degree most can not imagine. It reacts and responds pinpoint, like a laser to what you shovel into it. It is much more exacting then that prescription medicine you may be taking. If you think that the formula of that med is scientific and formulated to stringent standards, then times that by 5000 for the body.

Again, use the analogy of sin. We all know we are going to have to answer at the throne of God for every sin. We all realize that the ugliness and horror of sin catches up with us, even when we do not see its immediate result. It may sometimes seem like we got away with it, but we know we never really do.

So, not to be redundant, but it's the same with the body. Again, everything in Gods creation point to His perfection and the sorrow of a fallen world.

If you are not consistent within a degree of room for error, which is a small window, your body is not going to heal, and you will think the diet is not working. In reality the diet is working, but your not allowing the body a chance to implement it.

Plenty of fresh water every day. No soda. Ever.
All these new manufactured vitamin and colored and flavored waters are not good.

Stay away from grains. They are a complex carb. No good.

If you like the texture or taste of grains, then try using the pseudo grains. Buckwheat, Amaranth, and Quinoa,

Soak them and then eat them. Don't cook them if you can resist. If you have to cook them, steam them. Not boiled or baked.

Chew your food well. About 20 times until you swallow.

Stop eating just before you feel full, not after when you feel over stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey.

That's the basics, or most of it.

If you do all that, you are going to see healing and other changes.

A word of caution. Healing, which is the body repairing and detoxing, can be disconcerting.
You can get headaches, stomach aches, diarrhea, gas pain, swelling, and so on.
It may seem like your getting worse when you r really getting better. Even sometimes for relatively healthy people.
Don't give up. If your concerned, consult a nearby ND or informed nutritional counselor with experience in this area. Or a experienced dietitian.

Be patient. It took years to get to this place. Your body needs time to detox and heal. But it will, and much faster then it took to get sick.

It has already been exceeded and is well documented too.

The verse in Genesis does not refer to life span.
Your psychologically limiting yourself when God is not.

Some questions, jd. What is wrong w/ corn? Is it not just the gmo that is not good?

Here i have heard it said that 'seeds' are not good esp for arthritics who shun seedy food (like beans and corn), and i in fact thought, why should that be? Wud i have to take away pumpkin and sunflower seeds... i was not willing to! We neither have Buckwheat, Amaranth, and Quinoa (they are always from abroad sadly).. but there should be alternatives to look for.

Thanks a lot.

Joseph, what are your thoughts on things like smoothies?
If they are dairy and soy free, and made with real whole foods, then go for it. They are certainly easier to digest. Just don't over the fruit intake. Not more then about 10 ounces of fruit at a time. Mix in a little raw nuts, not to much, just about maybe 4 or 5, into it. The nuts stabilize the sugar spike.
If your or adding a powdered type protein, be careful with those. Now we're getting into processed food territory.
Don't use agave. Maple syrup or tapioca, or dates are good sweeteners, if you even use any. Fruit is fairly sweet without adding any extra sweeteners. And try not to mix citrus fruits with dry fruits like bananas or figs. Last, i would not generally do fruit smoothies or fruit after around 3 pm or so.

Corn, along with soy and grains often are not fully digested in the body by most people. This causes a macrophage response, which can cause allergies. Corn also is high in fructose, which is known to be a contributor of heart disease and diabetes.

Soy has its own issues, mostly with the way it effects the bodies hormones. Soy sometimes in some people can also cause a macrophage, or white blood cell, response.

Grains are a complex carb. Complex carbs slow down digestion and use more of the bodies energy to digest foods. The more energy the body uses for digestion, the less it has for healing and repair. Everything in the body is a energy trade off and the goal is to make it operate as efficiently as possible. They also tend to cause higher blood gas pressure, which in turn causes inflammation.
Also, most grains are acidic, not alkaline. A over acidic body PH is a contributor to many diseases.
Grains also have phytic acid which impairs the bodies ability to absorb minerals. Minerals are the substances which provoke the language between cells. Many people think they are as important it not more so, then vitamins.

You may hear conflicting info on these two foods and one food group. I think they are all net minus foods, meaning they do more harm then good.

If your going to eat them, I would recommend doing it sparingly.

Many seeds are high in Omega 3, a substance most people are deficient in. Most seeds are also anti inflammatory. If eaten raw, and better yet, eaten raw and soaked, they actually help with arthritis. Arthritis is a malady caused mainly by gluttonous grains and foods, inflammatory and acidic foods, and high sugar intake.

Your okay with pumpkin seeds. As long as they are raw and unsalted. Chew them well. I often put them into a coffee grinder and make them into a powder and put them on my salad. They add a lot of taste to it.
As long as you don't have kidney stones you can eat sunflower seeds. Again raw and unsalted.
If you can soak both seeds they will be even more of a benefit to your body.

Seems like a lot of work.

Could you share an example shopping list or some recipes/meal plan for a day/week?

I can give you an example of what I typically eat and have been researching good light backpacking meals. Do you have any suggestions?

Been eating mostly vegetarian since August, but still eat eggs and fish.
